Well I finally got my hands on one of these. I am really pleased that this cost me less than £12 all the way from Canada.
This is not a run your slide rule over dimensions, it looks like an F35B
Out of the box there are various options, all buttoned or everything down and...

I'm considering building one of my F-35bs in landing mode (with all doors open): now there is something wrong with the dorsal opening just behind the lift fan. The F-toys model features a white box-shaped recess (looking fit to load pilot's luggage for long range transfers). I...
My French Navy Crusader arrived this morning and on first inspection seems to be much more finely tooled than the Cafereo/JWings version, which I suppose is hardly surprising given the years between the two releases.
Cockpit detail is a little bit limited, but that is hardly...

Thanks a lot for those important advices, I'll sure remember ;)
This won't be my next work, even it's one of my favourites planes... I have too much bones taking dust to finish before :?
But I'm waiting for pics about your wip...
Seeing the Wurzburgh build by teddybeer I can report that the Brengun Natter launch tower can also be built, providing you abstain from strong drink and have lots of patience !
Essentially it breaks down into three sections, main tower, support structure and counterweight...
I picked this up from Hannants. Three pieces of quality card that makes a 2d or 3d setting for your models. So very simple.
Love it!

Re-reading this thread prompted me to wonder if, when using bases such as those produced by Noy and Coastal in conjunction with backgrounds, angling the background scene instead of standing it perpendicular to the base would improve the finished photo by reducing the shadow...
1) Models come wrapped in plain paper (no ziplock), so better be careful when you unwrap them because small parts may spill out. 0.jpg
2) First impression could be bad for the faint hearted: there is a LOT of flash!

Thanks for the reviews!
So the plastic is more on the softer side and flexible? Like the old 1/72 figures or something like that? I was affraid it would be brittle, these supports and flash scare me too.
I have been aware of AFV's output for some time but have not taken the plunge until now. Whilst browsing the HLJ website I had a look at the F4U and specifically the photos of the box contents. I did not specifically want a folded-wings model but when I saw that the boxing...

Another new recruit, another stunning build. You newbies are really setting the bar high!
I don't yet have pictures to share, but I have started working on the new Roden Condor, and it is a real mixed bag so far. Surface details and texture are marvelous, but the cowlings are disastrous. The wings and wing-root to fuselage join have serious fit and filling issues....

Good ideas, all; many thanks, guys. I don't have sheet copper, but I do treasure my few sheets of printer's aluminum (from back in the days before everything was printed digitally). Small update, the propeller shafts are useless, badly molded - replaced with wire already.
Announced in the News section with the necessary informations about the WÜRZBURG-RIESE radar
Now, some pictures of what is in the box.
It's beautiful, but there is work ....
Fortunately, there is a complere notice, but it will require to be well studied.... :D

That is FANTASTIC! I'm glad you built that beast, because I am very sure that it would die on the shelf of shame if I tried it. Marvelous display, too. Kudos!
I recently found some 1/144 Aeronavale decals (Not Mark 1) on Eby. Both with and without the yellow outline. 7 sizes in all and even toned down as on the present day Rafales.
What's more, even the crossed red anchors as seen on helicopters in the Algerian War are included.

I have become a fan of these little snap together kits, partly because of the subject choice - Fairey Battle anyone? - but also because they are actually very finely moulded despite their simplicity. The only drawback I have found it that the decals are rather limited.

Coming from this order placed in Japan some time ago, and received during my confinement, the 3rd kit from the A&W brand, the Mitsubishi Ki-1.
Anigrand quality ?
A nearly perfect resin, very fine details, parts that could almost be fixed without glue. I said almost .... :P...

Tuesday I've received a parcel from Dameya's site, containing two each of the new U Star models (M-60 Patton MBT) and Dameya's 3D printed RISE ERA kit.
For those who, like me, already have models from the Dragon CanDo series this is the model to complete your Desert Storm tank...

I knew about the quality of Dameya's offerings but I'm really impressed by the U Star kits. Hope they realise there's still plenty of scope in the way of WW2 releases ... ;)
I am in France and I am confined.
Fortunately, I had not anticipated ... but I just received kits from the A&W brand that I had ordered in Japan, of which here is the first, the Kawasaki Ki-10.
I had never bought models of this brand, but it is a very good surprise:...

Yes. A&W are produced under contract by Anigrand
(as are other brands)
You may have seen information about these figures in the news section. As I have a Revell corvette in the stash I decided to order two sets of these figures. Ordering was simple, communication was great. Delivery was fast and although the items are small they arrived well packed...

This is a release of DXM decal for F-14 Tomcat in 1/144 scale. code 91-1112

So, not having seen any Hudson on this forum before, and scooping up this little kit from Ebay last week, here's a quick what's-in-it-for-me of this one. This model is listed as 'ATLAS models Military giants of the Sky' and set me back 23 pounds, which included 6 for shipping...

Tony, given that the Altaya/IXO models are part-plastic, part-diecast and much less clunky than Atlas, I'd go with one of the former, at least as a first project. Certainly plenty of options to get your modelling knife into ...
Well, I hope to getting some images I can post up, but just a first look in the box left me with these impressions:
I continue to be underwhelmed at weapons detail on kits coming from our brothers east of Europe- the Fab-100s are kind of murky on detail, but you do have etched...

No problem, Josb. But I just moved from Brazil to Germany and sent all my spare parts box to some friends in Brazil. I still have lots of unbuilt kits that contain bombs and missiles that I will probably never use. When I build one of them I will let you know.
I am currently doing a WIP of the AFV Club P-40N and M in the Aviation & Aircraft forum here and I ended up looking to the F-Toys P-40N for comparison and as a guide in some aspects. I decided to post this point-by-point comparison here rather than in the middle of my WIP as it...

Thank you for such detailed comparison! I have a few odd P-40s in my mind and I just ordered the F-Toys kit to check it against AFV Club offering. :)
