Okay...here goes...*Takes deep breath*...*Checks flies*...*Marks the quickest way to the exit*...
I propose a Group Build, the intentions being;
To get those modelling juices flowing.
To see modellers at work.
To share the modelling experience.
To create dialogue between...

So I've got a whole week i which to either twiddle me thumbs of build summat. Guess what..?
In-box reviw
As is normal with these things, work begins with the interior. Even though this is a 1/144 kit, there's a lot of interior, embelleshed rather nicely with a decal for the...

When I saw that nasal mismatch, I instantly revisited my Anson. The reason for that anomaly was partially my doing. However, here it is the kit manufacturer alone. For dodgy model companies like Starfix and Mikro (the issuer of the world's worse ever Hurricane in any scale and...
I'll be cheeky and see if I can sneak this one in, under the finish line, taking advantage of a small extension. If I don't manage to complete, then I can continue the build in the Modelling Man Cave.
In-box review and inspired by blstryker's...er....inspirational build...
If we're going another week, might as well keep going. It looks like after Monday I have the rest of the week off, so onward.

Ive been meaning to do some B377s, both civil and military, and these two boxes have been opened, so a good place to start.
It is my...
So I am intending to carry out a bit of a kitbash. I intend to build the Roden C-47 with the boxart Minicraft Decals for the following kit. I was tempted to hunt around for alternative schemes and be a bit more, you know, adventurous. But I like this scheme. And whatever is said...

Go for it, Matey! Go burn that midnight oil 'til your beds are burning!
(D'ya see what I did there?*)
This is a bonus kit that comes with the C-17

After separating the parts and filing away the gates, the dry fit is excellent.

Im going to make it look like this Berry Aviation machine.

Now that does look very nice...even though it's white! :P
The transparent windscreen makes a difference.
Placemarker for my entry, i will be building a Boeing B377 Clipper (Stratocruiser) in PanAm markings.
i will be using a Minicraft 1/144 KC-97G Stratotanker as a sourcekit, as its pretty much the same aircraft with the military parts left off.
i have instructions and decals from...
Mmmm, where do I start? Firstly, I haven't been dissected yet. Turned up at the hospital and was told I hadn't even been booked in. When we finally got onto the surgeon, it turns out that the receptionist never recorded anything or contacted anyone, simply disappearing at the...
Down to two possibilities, both post-WW2 (which is unusual for me). The profiles (the RAN one is based on several colour photos viewable over the Web):

I am leaning towards the RAN Oxford Blue example, as it should...

These were added to Peter's Beaufighter sheet being printed by Custom Hobby Decals. No big deal. When I'm out of hospital (yep, I'm typing from my room now), I trust they'll be awaiting me, crying Bath me! Stick me! Mmmm, don't know whether that came out right ......
It had to be done.
I'm a Grown-up now and, like the esteemed modellers of yore, I'm able to sacrifice a kit for the purposes of conversion! My victim in this instance was a Revell Hawkeye and the conversion hails from the Land of Oz.
Some prep to begin with, to get me in the...

Thanks guys...she's landed, being fully loaded with supplies! ;)
I know I haven't been overly complimentary regarding Oz Mods kits in the past, but this one is worth the purchase, in my 'umble opinion.
Transocean Air Line was an interesting charter line that existed from 1946 to 1960. They operated around the world, but significantly, in the Trust Territory of the Pacific.
They operated no less than 68 DC-4s in various liveries.
I recently found that Pointed Dog decals make...

Totally agree, Bruce. Very smart looking scheme, Jonathan, and given the issues you had with the decals, the pair have come up beautifully. Definite thumbs up!
Interestingly, at the start of this Group Build, I had no particular interest in airliners in part because...
If I was to introduce anyone to the dark art of building an airliner, this is the kit I'd start them off on.
Fit of the fuselage halves was outstanding, due to an abundance of pins and holes;
(And I did remember to add plenty of nose-weight).
I spent a happy...

Ta Smeg.
I'm guessing the cost of aftermarket decals, when taken into account, will negate a lot of the price-drop of the kit itself. That said, they seem to go for less than a fiver over here.
I felt the need for something that wasn't white, with decals I felt okay with...and smaller than a BAe 146-100 STA Transporter and a Globemaster and less silver than a C-97 or Boeing Clipper..

Totally agree with all of Jonathan's comments. Given the fit of various parts and the evident amount of filling required, the end result is a great looking aircraft. Well done, that man! ;)
I hope it is not too late to start my build. I just returned from my trip to the USA with my family and I still have a few more vacation days to work on this model. I think I can finish it in time.
So here is the kit:
I am not very familiar with passenger...

Looks great, Luis. Yuri Gagarin would be proud! ;)
Great work, Bruce. Love the pencil-thin stripes and how you got such decent smooth coverage with gloss white using a hairy stick is a wonder in itself. I have enough issues with an airbrush.
Serves me right for rummaging amongst The Stash, but the Eduard kit simply leapt out at me.
I know this to be a very good kit, with few, if any, issues.

Really interesting scheme. I'm guessing here, but it seems like the original aircraft had the standard RLM70/71/65 arrangement, then the 65 was extended up the side of the fuselage, masking off for the snake decoration. Pity Eduard's decal is a bit bright in the choice of greens...
The Previous Owner taped the fuselage halves together with masking tape 40 years ago, it will be a little chore to remove that now.
He also lost the instructions and decals, and one single small part.
here are the parts.
