Came across who specialise in wheel sets for WW2 aircraft in 1/24, 1/32 and 1/48 scales. The tyres are rubberised and even include distorted versions to simulate weighting. Just one query. I zoomed in on several of the tyres and they include brand names like Continental and...
So in between modelling tiny planes in big scenes, I like to model tiny scenes with big figures - mostly 1/24 urban decay.
My first scene was a purely scratch built effort that ended up around 1/30 scale.
For Christmas my good lady ordered me a selection of a Doozy resin...

My life goal is complete, bringing the joy of Tove Jansson's characters to Australia đ
My wife and I love the Moomins and Moonmin Papa is the first drawing I ever did for her, so when I was trying to represent the pop-culture references that often appear in streetart, it seemed...
This is actually the final stage of a project we started in March . Itâs a fibreglass replica of a crashed World War 2 seaplane, a âVickers Supermarine Walrusâ and whatâs especially unusual about this model is that it is...

I've got Peter's much later revised version. Very tempted to extract this one from the stash during the course of GB15. Mind you, I've said that about numerous resin kits to date, Peter's and otherwise.
Feels like its been forever since I really worked on a 1/144th scale subject. But I will return soon! In the meantime, I built this simple Revell SnapTite A-10. Found it at a Goodwill of all places! Stickers came with the kit, so I ordered a set of loose decals from another kit...
Another little rough but otherwise fun kit. It had no cockpit to speak of so I scratchbuilt it out of sheet styrene. Everything else is out of the kit. Tried to do a decent green and brown camouflage paint scheme, but it came out less than optimal. But it will have to do....

Couldn't agree more regarding the incomparable Mr Patrick. Still go into Swoon Mode when I see . I looked online for a couple of pics of his Sidestrand and Overstrand but no luck. David, if you could acquire a couple of happy snaps of these, there's a number of us who would be...
Amusing PzKpfw IV Whif, BD99. I've got that Takara trio (a few of the non-1/144 scale thingies in the cabinets) but I'd die for the Takom 1/144 version, particularly after drooling over . Sadly, we can't see it in all its glory because of friggin' Photobucket!
Do you know The two types ?
So...?
Well, to know them, you have to be a fan of the Eight Army .... :D
While recovering from a war wound, John Jones known as âJonâ began to draw caricatures of British 8th Army officers, decked out in a set of very unmilitary clothing, and...

There's some great cartooning - both amusing and deadly serious - that came out of WW2, and it's quite a treat to see that a company would create models based upon characters such as these. I have a pile of books containing the creations of the Australian cartoonist Mick...
This was my 1st completion of 2021. I wrote it up for various social media sites I participate in, just for fun.
October 2019 marked the 40th anniversary of Motörheadâs iconic third album Bomber. An absolute rockânâroll classic from start to finish, raging through Dead Men Tell...

Oh, wow, I forgot all about B.O.C! Gonna have to get my hands on one. I'm currently working on the Aces High Iron Maiden Spitfire in 1/32 (Revell) then I'm back to postage stamping for a few projects. I'm planning on attending the IPMS Nationals in Las Vegas this summer, and...
Many years ago I found this photo of a russian soldier playing a piano. Photo is from Grozny, during the First Chechnya War. Many sources indicate it from 1994 but it's 1995, think february ...
Anyway, used Verlinden's piano keyboard (only that :D ) and some figure pieces....

You do know that someone's now going to do a 1/144 scale piano. No, take that back ... . In fact, there's all sorts out there for dolls houses, including .
On a more serious note, your figure builds and dioramas are awe-inspiring and thought-provoking. Love 'em all....
During the summer in July, while working at the museum, I found a 1/48th scale Bandai Willys Jeep model kit in the gift shop. I never really built any armor (or even vehicles for that matter!) but since my father and I operate a 42...
Talking about models, a very good friend of mine said that he'd like to make a model of AN-2 as a tribute to his two friends...
But he has no skill for painting figures, so I made them for him and I'm very proud to have completed this mini project in 1/72.
It was also a...
I'm sure many know of you guys remember (or at least have heard of the) Bachman Mini-Plane Series from the 60s-70s. My father would tell me about them from his childhood, as I became fascinated with all things miniature. Eventually he started collecting them again and we ended...

Stroll down memory lane.
Bought a few in 1968 (Franklin's 5&10 store Lincoln, Nebraska).
I had the SPAD, Fokker DR.1, YF-12, and F-105 Thunderchief. I still have pieces of the SPAD and DR.1.
I thought the WW I planes came closest to miniature representatives of the real planes...

You'd like to look at some images from the 2019 competition, at scales other than 1/144 ???
It's worth the detour....

OOOOOOH but it's supercute!!! The design is great, you need to find someone could be interested to produce it in resin, maybe Retrowing. He has different chibi style models and accessories.
Saw one of on evilBay this morning. Now that IS different! AMP is another of the Ukrainian companies producing kits in various scales, including our beloved one. Even though a bit of Whiffery, I still wouldn't mind getting one of these if it appeared in 1/144. And yes, as one...

Star Wars Box Scale Star Destroyer and Super Star Destroyer.
The purists would hate the paint schemes. Definitely not the best work ever done (couldn't get the seam out of the SSD)

Firstly, a beautiful trio of spacecraft, Ian. And secondly, you two have got me reminiscing about all those Chris Foss illustrations on SF paperbacks in the 1970's ... Isaac Asimov, E.E. Doc Smith, Arthur C. Clarke. Quite astounding, particularly when you read the following in...
Just completed the Hurricane that Andrew Mamedoff was unfortunately killed in. These two will now be going to the museum to become a small display to honor Mamedoff. Still not wowed by the Hurricane's prop and hub so I might replace or change it later.

Thanks guys! Both models are now on display alongside a 1/48th scale Helldiver made by museum President, Gene Madara.
Tomy 1/150 Toyota Crown converted to R/C - this is quite a fascinating due the amount of scratch building and electronics fitted into such a small space!
I almost managed to but the base on an Ikea chair the wrong way around last night!
