I hold a spare Figure in my Hands this morning and had a spontaneous Idea. Here is the Result: The famous Picture of Bernie Sanders at the Inauguration of Joe Biden.
The Chair was scratch build with sheet and wire and. I painted the Figure, good as I...

That’s brilliant! :D
In addition to an orange one, maybe you could do a Mayor Giuliani too. It would be a great way to practice some oil streaking effects.
Somewhere in Belgium, or maybe the Netherlands, late in 1944, a US Infantry detachment is moving along a raised track to secure a small village. Unexpectedly a Wespe Self Propelled Gun appeared from cover in the village and started to bombard the road, attempting to destroy a...
I've started this kit a few days ago! My plan is to follow the layout of the supplied base, but have its interior slightly more detailed. I am using 3mm MDF as my main building material, so I need to make small adjustments to the dimensions supplied in the kit instructions....

Just one word ... superb! Oh, and a few of these things ...
The crew of 2/SS. Pz Regt 1 Panther #214 on a reconnaissance probe are taking cover beside a ruined wayside inn on a small road after seeing patrolling Allied aircraft nearby, when the radio operator hears the distant rumble of tanks. He keeps a...

It's summer Down Under but I got a nice little chill down the spine when I looked at your photos. Definitely felt the icy grip of winter in the Ardennes. Another great diorama, Tim!
A few pics from a display my Dad and I put on at a show this year, before covid. Its quite large

My parents have a modest three bedroom ranch style house. The table is in the basement, and while it's been mostly finished, thankfully the parents saw how much I used the surface and kept it. And yes, the WWI aircraft are all Wings of Glory/Wings of War, with a few F-Toys...
Ok, first of all: I'm not the author of this diorama. It was made by Stefano, the Heroes Models main collaborator. I want to underline this because for me this diorama is totally insane and miles away from my modeling skills. Stefano is younger than me but he is old school...
Halfway through construction of the Jolly Rogers diorama (and considering where it would be displayed), I began to think about a follow-up diorama using the same methods, that would be much more relatable to Stratford and it's residents.
For my next trick, I (along...

Progress has been sloooooooooooooow as of recent. I'm back working (after a long pandemic hiatus) and now find myself with ALOT less time than I had. I've masked the hangar to paint the roof and rear / inside areas to cause more of a darkness / void inside.
An air force pilot pays a visit in his F-51D to a Naval Air Station, being met by the base commander while ground crew take a close interest in the shiny Mustang.
Avenger is the vintage but still nice Minicraft, Mustang and Hellcat are the Eduard/Platz models....
Some time in September 1940 while the air battle rages, a new forward airfield has opened at the Flying Club in Godermersham, Kent. Pilots from a few squadrons have flown in to examine facilities at what will be a forward refuelling...

Nice dio, not too crowdy not too empty - just OK
Like it very much
I've been putting together this 1/144th scale diorama at the Connecticut Air & Space Center in honor of the 90th Bomb Group, better known as the Jolly Rogers . It also is in honor of my grandfather: Peter J. Soltis, who was a Flight Engineer and Top Turret Gunner in the Jolly...

So we've cut the backdrop to just about 57 so it stretches nicely with some small magnets and lays in front of the doors. Let me tell ya, it's a pain when a bike flips over and you have to become a contortionist and work around that mural. Here are some shots my father took of...
We are having an unusually cold and rainy late September here in Italy so I stayed at home for the weekend. I wanted to do something easy, just to smell paint and glue for a while. So I took out of the shelf an old and large box that had been sitting there for eight years (this...
After flak damage and a run in with an interceptor over France, this P47D pilot suffered stuck gear and made an emergency landing at the first airbase he found back across the channel - going sliding off the end and into a field with a rescue jeep in...
Russian Airfield, somewhere East of Moscow. Spring 1942. A fictional but hopefully plausible scene.
UT-2 two seaters being prepped for training flights, although one has got stuck in the mud. In the back is a UT-1 with ground attack field mods - fortunately not required...

And grooming the horses! An excellent little dio making full use of the Mikro-Mir UT series. The posing of the figures is top notch, too! :D
Only weeks ago, the Spanish Company Rocast released a Figure Set named Spotters at the Ramp . It contains 6 Figures in a pose of Spotting. I want to show the first 3 painted by myself. I'm also an enthusiastic Plane Spotter and make this Hobby since 16 years.
Interesting article on corrugated iron roofs / tin roofs (viz dimensions etc) - as discussed before, you make not need a special roller (as pins/needles can be used)
Lucas made his corrugated roof out of foil rubbed over pins/sewing needles to make the ridges (see Part II)...
Inspired by our own Peter Hawkins, I am building a backdrop/ base for my RAF 1940 models. It will form part of my display but as a vehicle for photography too.
Already I have Corgi card Nissen Huts and control tower as well as some plastic huts for dispersals.
With nervous...

Hi, we've produced a basic multimedia (resin & PE) kit that can be assembled into an Israeli Air Force hardened aircraft shelter model. In order to build the HAS version seen on the boxtop, additional scratchbuilding with Evergreen\Plustruct items (specified on the box and in...
I'm almost completing my 1/144 WWI tank and vehicles collection (hope to show you it all before the end of the year).
Meanwhile I was thinking to a diorama base to show a few of them, so I started this little project: the base is an A4-sized wooden tablet (cm 22x33), and I have...

Do you have a razor saw (I have the JLC one) and it is brilliant for making very fine cuts. You may find that you only need to cut part way through and then can snap the rest off cleanly (try on a piece of the 'sprue' that the figures came attached to.
its been 2 years after i moved to my new home, infortunatly the airfield diorama i built for photographing finished builds didnt survive the move.
the only thing that survived was the large hangar that i managed to save.
however, i have been working on a plan to build a new...

I am envious of how much you are getting done with each passing day. I'm on Day 3 purely stuffing around with the underbelly tank of my Kingcobra!
