You ain't seen this, right?

One of the tail 'needles' has broken off, but it's a clean break and should fix up okay.
Beautiful casting of a very complex set of shapes. No bubbles, no warping and only the slightest hint of seam lines.

I'm guessing that, due to the limitations of the casting and resin, some of the finer detail was lost. That said, some plasticard and fine and careful sanding refines the model somewhat. here are some Before & After's;

Quite a lot of gun ports and exhaust needed to be drilled out, but this wasn't too much of a task.
I think I'm ready for primer;

The rest of the modelling experience was an exercise in painting, attemting to get a mottled and organic look, using a Hairy Stick.
On top of the H47 went some H48...and H47 was then stippled on top of that. After a couple of evenings play, I got where I think I wanted to be and finished off with a gloss black viewing portal, in the nose.

Definite blast from the past. Always found it amusing that young Will Robinson grew up to be Lennier. Just wish these guys were cheaper and I'd buy a set! :(
