USS Hornet located and photographed

Postby MichelB » Tue Feb 12, 2019 21:21

The RV Petrel has struck again, this time locating the wreck of the USS Hornet, sunk on october 26, 1942. The images are brilliant, especially the Wildcat with folded wings fallen besides the ship and the deck vehicle with its enamel brand name (International Harvester Power) still proudly visible. Stunning, and chilling...

The Petrel has been involved in an incredible number of finds of sunken US and IJN vessels. Amazing stuff.
