Anyone know about Eduard's 1/144 La-7?

Postby Ryan B. » Sat Mar 24, 2018 20:08

Saw a couple build pics of one by Michal Beneš Šrám‎ in 1/144 Scale Builders on Facebook, but can Google more info about it than one PDF: 7066_La7_NAV1 - 7066.pdf
Oddly, 7066 is also the number for an Eduard 1/72 La-7, so, maybe, someone just put in the wrong scale? but then there's the completed model:

Eduard have never produced La-7 kit in 1/144 scale. This most likely is a modded KP La-5 kit.

Definitely look more 1/144 than 1/72. The LaGG-3 certainly looks like the Zvezda Art of Tactic release.

Re: the La-7, Don Schmenk did a basic resin casting of the aircraft over a decade ago. As it happened, the result was more of an La-5 than an La-7, so was well and truly superseded by the KP kits. I therefore agree with Jiri that the model here is the result of an La-5 conversion using either the KP or Zvezda kit.
