Mikr Mir 1/144 Blackburn Beverley

What's in the box and is it any good?

Mikr Mir 1/144 Blackburn Beverley

A previously ignored stalwart of the post-War RAF, this aircraft had great range, load-carrying capacity and a very short take-off.
So whilst Airfix coughs up more Spitfires and their ilk, we look to the Ukraine for our aviation heritage;

It's a goodly sized beastie;

Some generic detailing for the interior;

Thankfully, no superfluous panel lines and the control surfaces are nicely represented;

The decals are in register and of the correct colours...and I'm happy enough with decalled windows;

Decent transparencies, a small photoetch fret...and masks for the canopy!

Distinctively Ukrainian looking moldings. Very A-modelish feeling coming off those parts. should be a challenge :)
Sorry, can't let that bit about British aviation heritage pass by... :roll:

Aaaah Welsh Models...Love 'em or...er...just keep quiet.
If only they didn't do the good stuff as vacform, 'cos I dislike having to make my own kit pieces before I can start making a kit!

There's always a chance Welsh may revisit some of its vacforms and substitute resin parts in their place. One of the company's later releases, the Boeing RC-135W 'Airseeker', is available in both vacform and resin forms.
