Among its production of 1/144 WW1 aircraft and racing aircraft, the Japanese manufacturer V1 Models produces something extraordinary, designed for the Schneider seaplane race, the Piaggo Pena PC.7

Yes, I recall seeing this kit on the Dameya site a little while back. Another of those weird and wonderful Italian aircraft of the 20's and 30's.

Wow! Am I right to think it proceeded take-off as hydrofoil and then shifted power from screw to propeller? Is this kit 3D printed?

Zooming in you can see the striations, so yes, it is a print.
