Spitfire Gashapon 2020

These are showing up in Taiwan dispensing machines... Not accurate scale models, but not bad for cheap Gashapons...
They at least went to the trouble of putting 3 / 4 bladed props on!

Looks like somebody's idea of the difference between a Mark I and a Mk VIII is in the number of prop blades. Not entirely sure what that raised section on the top of the port wing is supposed to be, and that vertical tailplane would have Reg Mitchell spinning in his grave. But credit where credit's due. First time I've seen a working folding undercarriage on any gashapon of this size. And, as an Aussie, seeing Bobby Gibbes' RG-V "Grey Nurse" as one of the options puts a smile on the dial.

Just one thing. For a set designed to attract young 'uns rather than we battle-hardened modelling warriors, they missed a trick with "LY". That was a PR Mk IG, finished in that rather weird pale PRU pink. Whilst we know that the true colour was closer to white than pink, this company could have gone the same way as Easy Models did with its 1/72 rendition and increased the percentage of red. But medium grey? Not pretty enough! :P
