I have three Bandai Spitfires in the stash, some Sweet Hurricanes and three of Peter's Blenheims. Oh and a gashapon Bf110. Also I have an idea for some Revell kits.......

I don't want to be pedantic and I hate curbing enthusiasm but, unfortunately, the Lancaster is a no-no in this GB. It's first flight was in 1941.

Some other options I have available are:

CAPRONI-CAMPINI N1 KAMI DE KOROKORO
DEWOITINE D.520 KAMI DE KOROKORO
MORANE SAULNIER MS.406C-1 FE RESIN
BLACKBURN ROC KAMI DE KOKORO

(sorry about the capitals but I've copied them directly from my lists)

It's also worth looking into early war Japanese aircraft (A5M, Ki-27, etc) as well as the I-15s or I-16s and other russian types used by the Chinese.

Yep, misses by a bee's thingie ... first flight 9 January 1941. Of course, it could be the prototype approaching completion on the factory floor ... :P

Historically, we tend to sneak a couple of extra weeks on top of GBs that were scheduled to conclude on 31 Dec. I know matters like this cause the GB purists to wring their hands in frustration, so we need to get a consensus from the membership, particularly those involved in builds as I type.

Of course, whatever the closing date of GB13 that is decided upon, the lure of GB14 is ever-present. For all of our newer members, check out the dialogue in this thread and you'll see how we've arrived at GB topics in the past. No doubt, some possibilities raised in earlier posts may resurface this time around, but anything within reason is fair game. And, as we've found, there will be topics that just don't strike a chord with everyone. To overcome this, we did try two diverse GBs running concurrently but I think members would agree that this tactic was not spectacularly successful. Short, sharp GBs, too, haven't gained much traction either. Food for thought.

So, possible topics? Approximate duration? Start date? Over to you ...

I've really enjoyed the year-long approach of the 1940 GB - so another year long 'group theme' (as it were) would be ace, in my books. Whether that's 1941 or something a bit broader I don't mind (I think there's enough material for a 1941 GB even if it's a bit less iconic than 1940, 1944 or 1945 - Pacific possibilities opening up for instance...).

Short and sharp worked nicely on the single type GB I think. I didn't participate but I enjoyed the 262 builds. With the proliferation of Platz/Eduard Mustangs/Bolts, what about a STGB for P-51s or P-47s?

I can't wait to know what's the next one so I can lose another!

I have a hurricane on my desk since three months and now only two weeks till the end...I'm a fool

Anyway I wuold like the same year-long approach as this year, with a no too strictly topic so we can do 1/3/10 models each.
