The Vietnam War - General Discussion
Well count me in. As mentioned elsewhere I've amassed quite a few French Indochina aircraft. My initial list of fun...
Ju-52 Toucan
Spits (eduard)
Repaint of Dauntless, Invader, Helldivers and Hellcats (F-Toys)
DC-3s and/or possibly a C-119 if I can stomach it (Roden)
Cessna Birddog and DeHavilland Beaver (Miniwing) - or possibly a chopper or two if I can face it
If those Armoury P-63s come out in time, I'd also want to do a French Indochina P-63 but that's long list stuff.
I do have a fair few Yank things from the latter war, but I'm keen to make headway into my French stash.

I have a Cafe Reo (I think) F-105G that all I did was pull the parts apart and a little seam work. Is that still viable for this group build?

Having rummaged, I find some old Arri kits, including the Thunderchief, Voodoo and Crusader.
I've also got 4 Big Planes Kits Pilatus Porters and I believe there may be a 'Nam decal option in there.
Other possibilities include;
FE Resin LTV A-7D Corsair II
Revell Hercules, provided I can find some appropriate decals.

It's my madness that keeps me sane.

Re: The Vietnam War - General Discussion
Some time ago, I reconciled to prune down my collection and concentrate primarily on WW2 and maybe a few years either side. The one exception to this self-imposed restriction concerned any aircraft that served with the Aussie Armed Forces (hence, my Sea Furies and post-war Dakota).
With this is mind and given the singular lack of suitable options in the stash, I will look to build my OzMods' Canberra as an RAAF 2 Squadron bird. At this stage, the only other possibility may come with the purchase of either the Amodel Caribou (which served with 35 Squadron) or the Big Planes Pilatus Porter (6 aircraft served with the Australian Army around Nui Dat).

Smeg I don't know if the Ozmods Canberra comes with Aussie Vietnam decals but if not (or if they are pants), I have some going spare from my AModel Canberra for a Vietnam-based RAAF aircraft which you're welcome to.

Any idea who makes markings for F-4Es? Been looking for one for my LS Phantoms as well as F-4C/Ds in this scale (Should I ever try to make Old's Scat XIV)
Need. More. Hornets.

I would so love to be part of this, almost everything i have stashed fits in here. I wont even make a list.
I'm just buried in other priorities for as far out as I can see, but I am watching all'y'all doing great work, cheers!

Sorry to hear that Jonathan - hope everything irons itself out soon and you can rejoin the fray.
Enzo - you may want to have a look at Printscale's sheet for B/C/D/E Phantoms.

Re: The Vietnam War - General Discussion
We'd all wondered where you'd gone. I thought this GB would be right up your alley. Sadly, as many of us have discovered to our chagrin, modelling often takes a backseat to all the other goings-on in our lives. Hopefully, you'll get on top of things and be back soon, better than ever. Missing those Orions already!Jonathan wrote:I would so love to be part of this, almost everything i have stashed fits in here. I wont even make a list.
