Re: The Cold War - General Discussion
do NATO interceptors count? (like the F-104G, F-4K/M Phantom,...)
they intercepted lots of soviet bombers during the cold war.

Re: The Cold War - General Discussion
The clock is ticking closer to midnight and the start of the new GB....... the closest the world got to nuclear Armageddon was in 1962 and the Cuba crisis. I was 14 and aeroplane mad. The V force was in its glory and the Lightning was hurtling across the sky in silver and gaudy squadron markings. I remember being scared and had nightmares of atom bombs falling and leaving just me and our neighbours dog, soppy, the only survivors.
This will be the background to my first builds for GB9

The Clock is currently stalled at 2 minutes to midnight, thanks to certain individuals around the globe. Just when it looks like we're making headway, some peanut will start sabre-rattling and some other peanut will respond in kind.
On a far more positive note, the entire globe has entered the month of February, so we're off and running. Gentlemen, start your airbrushes ...

Blades changed in scalpels, pencil sharpened, glue supply recharged, diagrams and images collated on the PC, so now all I need to do is find a six inch radius half circle of space on my workbench to be able to do anything!
Good modelling everyone.

Oh that's not fair!!! bucket list for one last hurrah to the UK will be a visit to Hannants. Was in the old dart in 96 and 2013 but didn't get the opportunity to get to Hannants. If I remember correctly, their London store was shut in 2013 for some reason when I visited the RAF museum.

The London store is good but the warehouse in Lowestoft is mega, it's dark, cold and a bit messy but the staff are brill and you can wander around all the stacks of shelves. It's like Ikea for modellers. Can't wait to get back home to my desk.

Re: The Cold War - General Discussion
I'm with Ian on this one. Big Bucket List item. Apart from salivating over all of the model stock (which would probably get me ejected from the store very quickly), I'd get to purchase things without worrying about international postage or minimum spends. Oh well, back to the world of dreams ...

Re: The Cold War - General Discussion
Would it be worth transferring my HMS Ark Royal build to this GB, or do people think it is too far advanced?
To me, it still doesn't look like a boat yet!
What's the timescale for this GB? 1st Feb to ............
