Hawker Hurricane Mk.I, Aeronautique Militaire Belge, 1940

next to the Fairey Battle, im gonna be building another Belgian aircraft, this time a Hawker Hurricane Mk.I

i have already built one a while ago, but i wasnt satisfied with the way it turned out, especialy with the roundels: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6079

so to replace it, im gonna have a second attempt at it, and again, with the old Revell Micro Wings Hurricane.

i have already started today with the mating of the fuselage and wings, and painting the insides.
the aluminium underside will be handpainted, the rest airbrushed.

just like the Fairey Battle, it has been masked off and a first coat of paint has been sprayed on.

green on, first time im trying freehand with my airbrush. still getting the hang of it, but it went okay

details on the wings are done, i had some problem with paint seeping throught the maskingtape, but i managed to fix it as much as possible. the prop is already painted, but now the project is going on hold until the decals are printed.
still some smaller paintworks to be done later.

Decals are on and sealed with clear, all it needs now is a coat of mat varnish

this one's done, im gonna add more pictures later, most of them were not sharp enough.

the aircraft was operated by 2/I/2Ae (2 Squadron, I Group, 2nd Air Regiment) at Schaffen Airfield in May 1940.

Nice one! All those years using a hairy stick, you've definitely nailed this airbrushing caper, nils. Combined with your What Ifs elsewhere, the Aeronautique Militaire Belge is finally getting some really decent representation on the forum.
