cost of built up models (in Japan)
Well I just lost a bid on a very nice looking Fw190D-13 Yellow 10. I bid max of AU$35 and after 31 bids it went for AU$175!
Here are a couple of other models:

US-2 Southern islands: http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/s501625251
US-2 air sea rescue: http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/r162796617
Nakajima Nakajima Ki-44 Shoki Ⅱ type B: http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/t485295915
Imperial Navy Fugaku: http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/j390202974
will be interesting to see what they go for.
Apparently there were a couple of others who also thought it looked very nice!!Here are a couple of other models:

Ah, I'd been watching those too! Strictly as a spectator mind, not as a buyer.
I noticed several of those very nice builds were done by this fellow: http://kurage55.blog60.fc2.com/
I was surprised to see him and others selling their completed work in such abundance. It must be quite a cottage industry.

It happens quite a lot on yahoo. Jp, billing items go for quote a lot. Often over over $100USD, though they are usually built to a very high standard.

Re: cost of built up models
Going to be a bit critical here. I looked closely at his Lily and Shoki and neither seems to have any interior detail. That would suggest the old Hasegawa/LS Ki-48 and Minicraft/Crown Ki-44. If I was forking out big dollars for a completed model, I'd expect a modicum of cockpit detail.

Re: cost of built up models
Sorry, I am going to continue to post some of these as I find it interesting and somewhat frustrating as well (I would have been interested in some of these but my head and wallet say NO!). $270 currently
Fully scratch built model of 1924 prototype floatplane to replace the Hansa Brandenburgs then in use. http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/l364301972
Edit: now $324 (24000 yen) 2hrs to go
Edit: Final price was $405
Maybe I should be building some models to sell!
