Michael, as you are probably aware, Soviet aircraft from WW2 haven't been particularly abundant in 1/144 scale. Indeed, one of the earliest to appear was the Bandai gashapon Yak 9D, now long out of production. A recent auction on eBay saw one go for in excess of $US60! Around the same time, Bandai also released an Il-2M3 Sturmovik, again long OOP but at least cheaper to buy than the 9D if you find one on eBay or elsewhere. In more recent years, we have started to see a number of other VVS aircraft appear - the Il-2M and -M3 (F-Toys, Zvezda) I-16 (Armoury, Zvezda, F-Toys, Kami de Koro resin), I-15 (Armoury, Minairons) LaGG-3 (Zvezda), La-5F/FN (KP), Yak-9T (Foxone), Yak UT-1 (Mikro Mir), etc. We've even had a number of diecast Soviet WW2 examples - the Petlyakov Pe-8, Tupolev TB-3 and SB-2. The remaining source of VVS planes in 1/144 has been those which are 3D-printed, most usually available from Shapeways in the US.
Sooooo ... all new additions to our Russian aircraft collections are most welcome, and the Yak-1 is a good place to start!
