DoraWings P-63A/C coming in August

Postby kingoalie » Thu Jun 21, 2018 2:24

DoraWings just posted sprue shots of their P-63A/C in 1/144 on their Facebook site. Not my cup of tea but the parts look great. Worth checking out if single engine props interest you.

Not bad. I'd have preferred a good P-39, but with some decent Soviet markings the P-63 might sit well for me.

Yahooo! Great news. And I so nearly spent money on the Arii kit recently as well.

I don’t do Facebook, is the P-39 any good? Previously I haven’t been super keen on their injection moulded kits.

Yes, definitely looks considerably more accurate than the elderly ARII offering.

Looks like Hobby Search is quick off the mark again. https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10552102

Shots of the test build look very nice too. I'd be very interested in some Soviet lend/lease schemes for this forgotten fighter.

I was looking on Dora Wings’ Facebook page and I think it’s linked to AMG so these are the rumoured AMG P-63s that appeared in the AMG future release catalog last year. Just in case anyone has had sleepless nights wondering about that.

Seeing the Armee de l'Air version with its ventral bulge reminds me just how much I've had to do to address issues with the ancient ARII offering during GB7. And so successfully that the damned thing is sitting untouched on the Shelf of Shame!* $US20 for a pair is definitely what the doctor ordered.

* I have the Berna French roundel sheet and I've done the artwork for the remaining decals, so this Shamer might start moving again soon.
