Minicraft 2018 Catalog releases

#1

Post by PFSlater »

On the Minicraft website, there is a catalog of 2018 releases, including the B-50, KB-29 and B-52/D/E.

Has anyone seen any websites that list the expected release dates for these models?

thanks,

Philip Slater

Minicraft has listed the 2019 releases.

The releases include a Mirage F1 and a B-52G. For the B-52G, Minicraft wrote that there will be a new weapons pylon with GDAM bombs, I think they meant JDAM bombs. However the B-52G were retired in 1993 and scrapped. I do not think that the G ever used JDAMs at that point but I may be wrong. However I am happy to see Minicraft expand the B-52 offerings.

On another note Minicraft did not list the combo kits that were listed last year such the P-51D pair, the group of 3 B-24s and the KC-135A/B-52H refueling combo kit. I hope these were not cancelled.

Hannants have a decent stock o the previous releases but I am afraid that at their prices its a no go area for me. This seems to be universal for Minicraft as I looked at HLJ and they are pretty much level pegging on prices. The B-52D due soon is listed by HLJ at £51.00 (the older B-52H is "only" £39.00). They have the new Martin Mariner kit (drool) at £57.00. Even a Sea Harrier is over £8.00 and the F-4E Phantom a whopping £11.69. I'm also drooling over the C-130J Super Hercules but again at £51.00 their prices are getting beyond what I am prepared to pay especially when I already have more kits than I can build in my remaining lifetime.....

Hi Tony,
Amazon has the C-130J-30 on sale at £39.99 and free UK postage HERE.

I seem to have amassed a fair sized collection of Minicraft, Academy/Minicraft and Revell kits if anyone has stuff to trade.

Looks like the B-50 is finally on approach to release in June.

It is an entirely new tool they say, which gives me cause for optimism. But then the prices are frankly terrifying. Still, short of a major kitbash this would be your only option if building a B-50. Here’s hoping.
