Well. this is a story of an MiG 21 PF who wanted to become an f 13 ...
I wanted to make a replica of an old photo, but at the end I gave up for many reasons . Still, I wanted that f 13 8-)
So, ax and chainsaw gave me a hand ...
As my usual, I scratched cockpit ...

Wow ! That's an impressive conversion work you've started.

What is the base ? Trumpeter ?

Looking good. A shame there's no proper F-13 kit in 144th - I think the closest is the Trumpeter J-7II, with different canopy, a second cannon, and maybe slightly different landing gear.

...and the Trumpeter F-7-II is a lousy kit!! Legs too tall, overly thick tailplanes and they got the tailfin wrong. Check out my build somewhere in the forum... ;)

No, I imagine he's using the Revell/Minicraft MiG-21PF as a base. A much more decent kit.

great work! Just love those gear doors! And yes champagne can be a helpful modelling asset :D
Is that Revell kit the same mold as the old Airfix kit?

Some time ago, I found a Chinese decal supplier on evilBay that issued sheets with various diameter dots. I bought the white version for just such an eventuality as this. Came in handy when I did my Red Cross markings on my What-If Fa284 build. The crosses were printed on clear DIY decal paper then positioned over the white dots.
