This just popped up on my Instagram feed.

Designed by Bryan Wall from Wingnut Wings this will apparently be a collection of planes designed for modellers and wargamers. Initial release will be through Kickstarter (standard for most wargames these days), doesn't say if the kits will come to retail in the future.

Sounds pretty promising, I'm sure we can all give them a shopping list of types to produce!

First model announced is the Spitfire Mk. 1 above.

A good early Spit (and this one seems to look very good) and a not so troublesome BF-109E - plus a couple of others will definitely be very welcome. Although I would be even more happy about something less mainstream. But I understand the business idea, of course!

I'll definitely sign up for several of the first two.

Now the latter will already be in many modeller's stash, but a Stuka without required etch (as per Eduard) would definitely be of interest to some and the Sweet Hurricanes are generally only for sale on the secondary market in the UK.

Wow. Christmas come early for me. I’m in it for the Spits all the way.

It’s too much to hope for but a BP Defiant or Blenheim - or even a decent Battle (even less likely with Zvezda competition) - would be beyond brilliant.

It's also a shame that one of the most representative fighter planes of all the time doesn't have a good model of its Mark 1 (and Mark V!). I hope their Kickstarter will raise all the funds, I'm definitely in for Spitfire, 109, and Stuka.

If they will not do, I will produce the Mark 1 with Heroes Models, this lack must be filled (I already had this idea but I expected someone starts to do it in plastic finally).

We're planning to launch a crowdfunding campaign in late autumn, and the idea is that we'll be developing a complete collection in one box. Depending on how much backing we get, we're planning to develop the following kits which will be included in the box collection:

Super excited to see the Blenheim, Ju 88 and Bf 110 on there. I'll have to finish off my old Crown Ju 88/Bf 110/He 111 kits so I can justify buying some more WW2 twinnies!

Hi All!

Boy, this escalated quickly!! You can say what you like about the dark side of social media but their algorthims are incredibly effective!!

Much of what I've told people through DM on insta has already been said here. Bryan's name and the wingnut connection are certainly a huge reassurance for people, it would seem. But to toot my own horn just a little, I've been designing plastic kits for over ten years too, and I've done dozens of kits for the Flames of War and Team Yankee ranges in particular. So together we're a pretty effective design team!

The plan as has been mentioned is a kickstarter initially - we're primarily interested in the scale models market but there's so much crossover with the tabletop at 1/144 that we're designing with both markets in mind and will be produced box sets to suit both.

These will be available through as many distributors and retailers as possible once they are in production, as we have big plans to expand the 1/144 range as well as other subjects in other scales. My specialism has always been warships, and that's what I will likely pursue while Bryan focuses on aeromodels.

To tool all the models that we dream of tooling (as listed above) in one big Battle of Britain box, we will need to raise a lot of kickstarter money - we're still deciding whether to just do the Spit and 109 first and then the rest as a second kickstarter when we have a trusted track record of delivering. But there's no doubt that getting this in front of as many modelling eyes as possible with be the key, and you can really help us with that by liking and sharing our social media content, for which we will be sincerely and genuinely grateful !
