Reason for joining the forum?:
I started - or re-started - collecting when the Corgi Aviation Archive was launched in 1998. I liked the 1:144 scale for space reasons and although detail on early releases was limited they had a charm which still appeals to me. With the launch of 1:72 diecast my focus switched although I was still keen to add to the 1:144 collection, discovering Atlas Editions, Altaya IXO and gashapon in the process. With the loss of 1:72 manufacturers such as Falcon, Gemini Aces etc, HM's concentration on fast pointy things and 1:48 and Corgi's uninspiring release programme I have turned back to kit building in order to develop particular themes.
Interests:
De Havilland, Grumman, trainers, flying boats, transport, pre-1939 aviation, Soviet aviation development.
