Given all that is happening world wide, I hope everyone is OK. As I'm in an at risk group it looks like I may get ordered to self isolate. As I never got round to set up an internet connection at home (always used my old apartment or the office) I have been using the local...

This moderator couldn't agree more. The messages from many governments around the globe have been atrocious at times. And your analogy re: the 747s is spot on, David.
I reckon one of the best examples of how things should have been handled in terms of actions and timing of...
This is an interesting twist on what looks like a He-162

The engine is much lower and smaller in profile but I'd agree that some 1950's artist has had the Volksjäger at the back of his/her mind when he/she drew this.
During the summer in July, while working at the museum, I found a 1/48th scale Bandai Willys Jeep model kit in the gift shop. I never really built any armor (or even vehicles for that matter!) but since my father and I operate a 42...
Talking about models, a very good friend of mine said that he'd like to make a model of AN-2 as a tribute to his two friends...
But he has no skill for painting figures, so I made them for him and I'm very proud to have completed this mini project in 1/72.
It was also a...
I'm sure many know of you guys remember (or at least have heard of the) Bachman Mini-Plane Series from the 60s-70s. My father would tell me about them from his childhood, as I became fascinated with all things miniature. Eventually he started collecting them again and we ended...

Stroll down memory lane.
Bought a few in 1968 (Franklin's 5&10 store Lincoln, Nebraska).
I had the SPAD, Fokker DR.1, YF-12, and F-105 Thunderchief. I still have pieces of the SPAD and DR.1.
I thought the WW I planes came closest to miniature representatives of the real planes...
I have this unheated garret room lined with shelves containing a great many cardboard boxes. In hopes of gathering courage to build something, Ive gotten out as many models as will fit in the interstices.

The last time I used the term interstice was to describe the voids between the sodium and chloride ions in common salt. Very appropriate here given the near-molecular sized holes that you are populating with your collection!

Hi Yama-zon, I hope you are keeping well!
Thank you for the G4M. I’m looking forward to it very much :D
I won’t get the other ones this time, but I will definitely watch out for more of your products in the future. You have an excellent selection!
All the best to you for the...
Just read of the passing of one of aviation's greats, Chuck Yeager, aged 97 ...
Some obvious memorial builds in 1/144 might include his P-51D-20NA Glamorous Glen III and, of course, his Bell X-1 Glamorous Glennis , both named in honour of his wife.

Farewell, sir.
My favourite picture of him that I found for a build a few years ago - that rueful look says so much.
No Scale ModelWorld 2020 but ....
You'd like to look at some images from the 2019 competition, at scales other than 1/144 ???
It's worth the detour....
For example, the winner .... :

So, interested ....? :o    So see the posts below :
I have several chibi style planes, I like them . I saw in this section a couple of post about new kits but no one with finished models. There are some chibi addict like me? Please show your models!

OOOOOOH but it's supercute!!! The design is great, you need to find someone could be interested to produce it in resin, maybe Retrowing. He has different chibi style models and accessories.
Saw one of on evilBay this morning. Now that IS different! AMP is another of the Ukrainian companies producing kits in various scales, including our beloved one. Even though a bit of Whiffery, I still wouldn't mind getting one of these if it appeared in 1/144. And yes, as one...

A '58 Edsel! Thanks, David. I was trying to recall what the grill of this thing reminded me of. ;)
So, recently Patch went to visit a pediatric hospital, a very poor one ...
It must be said that the institute in question is very old but kept clean despite appearances ... look at what kind of Teddy bear there is (it looks like IT's cousin )...

Brilliant - also could be Joaquin Phoenix in Joker! Very well done.
Star Wars Box Scale Star Destroyer and Super Star Destroyer.
The purists would hate the paint schemes. Definitely not the best work ever done (couldn't get the seam out of the SSD)

Having to retrain so modelling is at a minimum.......

Firstly, a beautiful trio of spacecraft, Ian. And secondly, you two have got me reminiscing about all those Chris Foss illustrations on SF paperbacks in the 1970's ... Isaac Asimov, E.E. Doc Smith, Arthur C. Clarke. Quite astounding, particularly when you read the following in...
Many years ago I found this photo of a russian soldier playing a piano. Photo is from Grozny, during the First Chechnya War. Many sources indicate it from 1994 but it's 1995, think february ...
Anyway, used Verlinden's piano keyboard (only that :D ) and some figure pieces....
Just completed the Hurricane that Andrew Mamedoff was unfortunately killed in. These two will now be going to the museum to become a small display to honor Mamedoff. Still not wowed by the Hurricane's prop and hub so I might replace or change it later.

Thanks guys! Both models are now on display alongside a 1/48th scale Helldiver made by museum President, Gene Madara.
My other passion, next to the Modelling, is the Planespotting. I the last years it was able to spot many planes, like the Air Force One, several Antonovs or classics like the Boeing 727. This year I finally get a perfect shot of the worlds biggest Freighter, the Antonov An-225....

The designers at Antonov certainly don't believe in size limitations when it comes to aircraft. :D
So, I know the price of things go up and that Hannants are not always the cheapest - but, does £60 for a B-52 seem a bit steep? That said, does it become good value compared to Mark 1 Do-17 at £22??
also, still no sign of that B-50!

Wholeheartedly agree, nils. When I'm seeing mid-1970's castings complete with extraneous flash being wheeled out at a price you might be willing to pay for a state-of-the-art kit with PE and all the trimmings, then I have to ask what's going on. I suppose it must be working for...
