Well a bit cheaper than the last Kyūshū J7W1 Shinden - bit still pricey!

Looked at the ads for that guy selling the standard Shinden. Japan Goods Samurai ? Yes, he'll certainly cut your bank balance into tiny little pieces ...
I know we're supposed to keep it light and non-political . But can I PLEASE ask for prayers for the MiG-29 pilot known as The Ghost of Kyiv ... And please, PLEASE pray for those who are under fire for nothing less' than living in the wrong place. Asking for prayers is all I can...
Given all that is happening world wide, I hope everyone is OK. As I'm in an at risk group it looks like I may get ordered to self isolate. As I never got round to set up an internet connection at home (always used my old apartment or the office) I have been using the local...

This is my last project in 3D - italian military truck in 1/72 scale. Whole thing was very interesting and I enjoy it from starting the drawing. It was stamped by a guy in Croatia and he did an excellent job.
I added some small things as the and motor cover in the cabin. Some...

Beautiful work all round. Definitely looks far more like 1/35 than its true scale.
Sadly, three US marines have been killed when the Osprey they were passengers in went down near the Tiwi Islands, north of Darwin. The Osprey was part of a military exercise called Predators Run which involves the US, Australian, Indonesian, East Timorese and Philippine armed...
Yesterday, looking for decals for one of my models, I googled Old Ironsides armored Division .
Between several images i saw this

now this just happens to be the livery (and weathering) one of my tanks is being finished in.
I was hooked and only the high shipping and...

There's a side of me that does wonder about the Douglas Bader sneakers. A guy with artificial legs and the company honours his memory with a pair of shoes? :o
And we Aussies do know about ... the company was founded in Melbourne in 2006! My daughters have some of their apparel...
Can't resist a color Cold war aircraft photo.
Especially the fighter-bomber version of the Voodoo .
My dad (and family) was stationed at Bentwaters, 81st Field Maintenace Squadron from Sep 58 to Sep 61.
Unfortunately, I was too young to remember very much.
Just completed the sort through of the 1/700 ship kits. Not got them entirely into a logical order but near enough. Used a smart phone for these so they are not as clear or in focus as I would like but near emough.
A new collection of images have been added to the Historic England photo library.
Other collections and aerial surveys are available in this site, though not all of a miltary/wartime theme.

It was one of those aspects of the UK I loved when completing my postgrad degree at Brunel in 1990. History everywhere.
Even now, I go onto Google Earth to walk down the streets around Uxbridge and see how little has changed in 30+ years. Sadly, way too much development here...
Day One (for me) of Oshkosh 2023 show. And really only a half-day at that since I arrived around lunchtime. Sorry that my photos do not compare to the professional work of MC84 and that the crowds here do not facilitate great open shots (I will go back for a better look at that...

And the MiG-23UM crashed and burned in Michigan. Thankfully both pilots ejected safely.
Well there were 3 x F-20 Tigersharks built, 2 x F-16XL and X-29s. So yes, got reality beat when it comes to them.
However there were 32 SR-71s built so I have a way to go. I have beaten out the XB-70 though as in addition to my two Armory kits I found that I had an Anigrand...

Fabulous pic, particularly when viewed by someone actually born in 1959. Methinks one of our illustrious vignette creators on the forum is going to tackle this one before long.

Great photos indeed! Not sure quite what's happened to aviation Down Under but, with the occasional exception of the Victoria Police Dauphin, most of the air traffic overhead is restricted to magpies and crows ...
OK I am only being partly serious here. But I am sure most of you are familiar with the Pixar spin off from the Cars franchise where a lowly crop duster enters a round the world air race and wins against the odds etc...

Yup. I know all about that eternal loop!
We did Planes 1 and 2 on repeat a year or so ago. We’re now onto the Sword in the Stone and old Swallows and Amazons film. Both have much more rewatch appeal, much as I love anything aviation.
The good man started collecting parts and instruments 60 years ago. The actual build by him, his son and grandson using original drawings en building methods took over 10 years. I've read that the laminated wing front spar was the hardest to...

Got a soft spot for the D.XXI and that distinctly Dutch camo scheme. The first kit I had was the old Frog one in the 1970's and I wish I'd been able to do justice to it with the right colours at the time. That model has long since disappeared, but I do have one of Kami's resin...
Some Military Stuff from my visit yesterday, 6 Eurofighter, 2x Skyhawk, 1 Learjet and Tornado, not bad for 4h.
