Amusing PzKpfw IV Whif, BD99. I've got that Takara trio (a few of the non-1/144 scale thingies in the cabinets) but I'd die for the Takom 1/144 version, particularly after drooling over . Sadly, we can't see it in all its glory because of friggin' Photobucket! :evil:

The engine is much lower and smaller in profile but I'd agree that some 1950's artist has had the Volksjäger at the back of his/her mind when he/she drew this.

I had the SPAD, Fokker DR.1, YF-12, and F-105 Thunderchief. I still have pieces of the SPAD and DR.1.
I thought the WW I planes came closest to miniature representatives of the real planes...

Not sure if I would have used the term the pilot was able to break and evade the live AIM-9.

From the picture it looks like the AIM-9 hit the aircraft with the warhead shredding the tail pretty good.
Great airmanship by the pilot!
