As you know, someone on this site builds a model of something from scratch or bits only for a kit to follow shortly thereafter.
When I heard that Densil launched a Lincoln not long after by kitbash of kits and bits, I said I'd sell Charlotte and Josh to finance the model. Well...

It's a good strategy. Grandchilden (especially small ones) can quickly be reproduced on demand for many years to come and will not be out of production as soon as obscure Vacuform kits, and/or circulate in online auction platforms for years at ridiculously inflated prices....
I received my Roden RC-135V/W yesterday and took some time this morning to look it over. Overall, I think it's a nice kit with only a few shortcomings. I also took some time to compare it with the Minicraft KC-135R. Here are a few pictures and a few of...
First photo compares Platz (gray) vs. LS/ARII Weapon Set #2 (white). Specifically: Bullpup, Walleye and ARM-78:
This photo compares the Sidewinders and Sparrow missiles. Notice the differences in the mid-body fin placement of the Sparrows. I don't know who got it right. To...

I finally got the 3 sets and the jsdf one (for a total of 4).
Since I am not an expert, I can't answer if the parts are technically correct. But they are a must since many of platz kits, does not include weapons, and I wasn't able to get the old LS/Arii ones.
What I can give you...
A few days ago I've discovered this site , thathave a small but seems growing set of 1/144 accessories.
I've been looking for the F-16 T-Pod forever ( I really hope he'll create a pylon with Lightning pod too ... or even the combination tpod and HTS on the left , unlike...

Likewise re impressed with the wire core on rotor blades and landing gear. It's a really good feature of the kit design. Kinda shifts the weakest link away from the main rotors to the rotor hub.
Decided to pick up the H-21 as a result. Wish they would do a Husky and some...
Some photos as promised. Basically, I think this is a superb little kit.
The ribbing on the wings is very delicate I think (the last few Valom biplane releases have made the welcome step away from the engraved lines on the Pup, SE.5a, Albatros etc.)
No resin parts,...

Maybe control horns? That's what I've always called them with my 1/72 WWI modeling.
I recently ordered the three new 144 releases from Russia's CtA (Cut Then Add). They arrived from Moscow in a letter unlike any that I have ever received before...
Top marks for ensuring that there was sufficient postage on there.
The decals themselves are three of...

There is an UK angle on this, in principle once issued Post Office stamps remain legal tender. It is therefore potentially possible to buy old/vintage stamps at less than face value and use them on a contemporary package.
However, these days if your package is too large any...
This series has been running for a while and although the brand name being used is Luppa it is the usual Amercom format of a model and a magazine. Some models from previous releases of the series make an appearance in this one which is largely a mix of 1:72 and 1:144 and there...
This is Heavy Hobby's Lynx 6x6 ATV (MLRS version) from . It's 3D printed in a peach-coloured resin(?) material, and the detail is superb. I bought it from a Chinese seller on eBay for ~£11 + shipping as part of a larger order. A full gallery of images is .
So eh, yeah, the Hawker Tempest V/Sea Fury has been one of my favorite piston engine fighters of the WWII/Post-War era. If the Tempest was compared to the F6F Hellcat (not really, most considered it like a P-47 Thunderbolt), then the Sea Fury is the better follow-up, the 47...

Nice review thanks! I love this kit and a rerelease would get a thumbs up from me. Perhaps against the Bearcat (an updated mould) in a sort of friendly versus.
For completeness, I have the Miniwing Sea Fury, and the F-Toys kit is miles better. The only quirk of the Miniwing...
My consignment from the ever excellent Akira-San arrived this morning. I thought about getting a full box of ten but in the end decided to select five: the Mk.Ia; a Mk.IIb; the pink PR Mk.VII; the black Bf-109E and the archetypal BoB Bf109E scheme - pale blue with splinter...

Okay, so how’s the general fit and finish off the mold? Eeeeh, good but a bit “flashy”. I would recommend dragging the edges through 1250 or 1500 grit once just to sand away some of the excess plastic at the edges. Joins are fairly crisp....
I purchased this from HLJ (24.32 USD and out of stock but in stock at Hobbysearch for 2800 yen) and here are some photos and in-the-box thoughts on the kit:
Some of the kit contents:
two canopies (I wish more model companies would do this). The canopy...

I don't know about nose weight, but I would expect that some would be required.
I just received mine today and it seems a really nice kit. I purchased the normal version and not the one with those rockets mounted on top of the wings, but I am curious about it. Does anyone know...
One last review of my Vizi models haul. This is the best of the lot I think.
Many people will have heard of Zlin - the Czech company still builds light aircraft and gliders. Possibly most well know is its highly aerobatic Z-50 - which Zlin aircraft are known for their...
I purchased three of the pre-release kits from Scale Model World at Telford. Brian told me two years ago that they were in the pipeline and it's been a difficult secret to keep!
The models are not officially launched yet as there has been issues in getting decals to match the...

I know this will be old news but I thought I would post something as it may benefit someone.
Miniwings have a number of interesting subjects in their 1:144 resin catalogue. However, for ages now I have been put off by the dodgy photography on the internet and, especially given...

I don’t deserve mention in the same breath as Marco (he says, typing on the same iPhone used to photograph kits!). But thank you.
Forgive the dodgy pictures - I hadn't got my lightbox set up again yet when I took these.
The Nieuport 21 and 23 were essentially tweaked versions of the Nieuport 17, probably the most successful of the diminutive Nieuport interceptors and used widely by France, Russia and...

Just for clarification, because of the different synchroniser, the Nie.23's gun was moved slightly to starboard. The easiest way to distinguish a Nie.23 from a Nie.17.
Will add some text at some point this week but here are the photos. Really nice kit. Pictures don't really do it justice.
As mentioned elsewhere, from this kit you can build the following with some spares decals:
- DFS SG.38 - as used by wartime Germany
- Eliotts Primary EoN /...

Forget the Me262, Me163 or Bachem Natter. Shudder with fear as a DFS SG.38 comes swooping down upon you!
Actually, quite a cute little beastie and certainly a model that would have most enthusiasts scratching their head over as they try to work out what it is. Looking...
I have built a couple of these Mini Hobby Models mainly because they were cheap. Their Mig-21 is appreciably bigger than the Eduard and is very poorly detailed. The Mig-25 is a very poor option compared to the Revell.
I have no idea if this kit has been covered previously on KG144. Mine arrived a few minutes ago.
Executive summary: it is lovely!
The contents of the box comprise a sheet of very sharp decals offering Italian, Hungarian and Spanish markings (Cartograph standard); a very...

Incidentally, all of the LF Chirri decal options at Hannants are currently 1/3 off. And I've finally got around to ordering the CR.32 like I promised Lluis I would way back in the dim and distant past.
My latest consignment from RadJapan touched down this morning comprising two P-61s and one Ki-45 Toryu.
Dealing with the latter first F-Toys has released the Ki-45 previously. It appeared in November 2006 in Work Shop Vol.9 Twin Aircraft Collection 2 and in that version came...

That's one neat little Toryu quickie ! Even if it is pipped by the Ki-46 Dinah, the Ki-45 Nick is still quite a pretty little aircraft and the IJA mottle adds to its appearance. F-Toys can be a bit hit-and-miss when it comes to mottling and stippling, and most of their Luftwaffe...
i made my very first inbox review video this week.
its a bit clumsy but im still learning on how to smoothen future video's (im not a TV shopping host).
anyway, my first video is an inbox review of the Revell Microwings F4U-1 Corsair.

I've just watched this again on the PC as I thought the focus on the up close looked a bit off. No, the focus is fine it was the quality of the casting of the kit
