Since Moresby's post back in August about his Yao's Studios order from lixili2016 I have been monitoring the lixili pages on eBay. When I saw that Yao's Studios had released their Walrus model in 1:144 for me it was a 'must-have'. I thought the US$35 price tag a bit on the steep...
Following on from MattPs review and build of the J-10 I received a J-31 Gyrafalcon from MTCC this morning and quickly clipped it together. As with the J-10 its basic but has the bones of a worthwhile model at a fraction of the costs of a Triplenuts model although that is in no...
Placed an initial order to test the water as it were and very happy with their models. All those below are still on their printed supports so the details are not that clear. The rotor blades for the helicopters are a LOT better than thet appear on the website.

For any transparency I tend to use either Microcale Kleer or a strong white wood glue like Evostick that sets clear. Alternatively and if you are nervous about the glue holding, you could try Uhu or something similar but that does tend to be stringy and can go places you don't...
Hi all...I wondered if anyone has built this kit at all? It's a strange scale admittedly @1/110.....but almost 1/144 scale and looks to be a good bargain price especially with the old LS offering becoming difficult to come by these days. You could always add paint and weathering...

Thanks for your thoughts chaps.. Yeh i think you're right in that 110 is going to be a lot different size to 144. It was just a thought at is looks quite a nice model...more for a desktop ornament though than to stand side by side with my other 144 collection
I am almost at the decaling stage on this assembly - I say 'assembly' rather than 'build' because construction could not be simpler. However, I have gone to town on the painting, choosing to reject the two schemes that the instructions provide for, instead I have had some fun...
I've just received what I've ordered 18 days ago (no customs fee this time, Yesss!):
First impressions: overkill package! One large black cardboard box containing my M3 Lee parts, plus individual small plastic containers for each of the figures received (2 of them are SINGLE...

That image of the Walrus looks too crude for 1:144, I suspect it is either the 1:200 version or the 1:350, although I wouldn't have thought they would rig a 1:350 but who knows?
This series has been running for a while and although the brand name being used is Luppa it is the usual Amercom format of a model and a magazine. Some models from previous releases of the series make an appearance in this one which is largely a mix of 1:72 and 1:144 and there...

I’ve been looking for one of the Blenheims for a long time now, and five of them just popped up on eBay. Still a few bucks more than your average Mark I kit, but free postage here in Oz. There’s 4 left now if anyone is keen.
There is a handful of Japanese types that I have been tracking down, the G3M 'Nell' being one of them. I managed to get the Big Bird rendition and put it together this afternoon. Compared to F-Toys and Bandai the CafeReo models are not so easy to put together, to the extent that...
A few short weeks ago I saw the announcement that the Ukrainian company, Metallic Details were releasing a trio of kits in 1/144. I thought it would be a good thing to show some support and placed an order straight away. Due to Russia's attempted invasion, I figured it might...

I am currently building the Hs-123. It is incredibly fragile - the undercarriage has broken three times so far and one of the main struts snapped in-situ. I have had to brace it with some fine gauge florists' wire.
It is one of the more stressful builds I have tackled, I will...
I have had my eye on this kit since it became available at Hannants. I decided to bite the bullet regarding the Mark 1 Mossie kit in order to get my hands on the BOAC decals - this was before Angus' kind offer - and the Piper was added to the order.
Both touched down this...

Seconded. I have a few of the Brengun sets and plan to use them soon.
As I posted on the 'News' thread my box of WKC18 arrived this afternoon. It is the first time I have bought a full box. The extravagance!
I have opened the individual boxes to see what is included. I will not say what the 'Secret' item is until...

I have now built one each of the P-51H and the Shinden and two of the Ki-61ii, a low back and a razor back. All three are excellent but the Tony ii is definitely the best.
I don't know what F-Toys have done with their decals but they are a joy to work with. Clearly something...
Uh... ok, so this will help out my little plastic air force. Someone referred me to this one map site in Japan which, ok, is sometimes hard to understand- it's an auction site...(?) Maybe?
But whatever it is, the reason I was referred there was for a couple of different items....
A set of IJA mechanics and pilots figurines, also usable for the IJN, except perhaps the armchairs for the pilots (that would look out of place on an aircraft carrier, no ?)

I was looking for something unique to round out my early Soviet aircraft, specifically I-16s, and found this.
This is a 3D printed kit, as you might expect from the name of the manufacturer. All the parts are still attached to their supports and print bases, though they come...

Sputnik3D is one of our newer members. Wisely due to the current conflict in Ukraine, he has been selling his products through the ever-reliable Akira at . The I-180 and I-185 are of most interest to me given my penchant for WW2 militaria, and both look like an I-16 on steroids!...
Information on its release and the different versions was given here :
I just received one of the 3 versions, that of the Marines and here are some photos (I think the parts are identical for the other 2 liveries).

Yes, cheers, TB. I think the masks are definitely a wise addition under the circumstances. Quite tempted by this oddity myself. Built up, the first of Piasecki's Flying Bananas will definitely be an eye-catcher in the display cabinet.
The kit comes in a very large box and is extremely well packed. It comes with three sprues, which are larger than usual for the lower than usual number of parts. The giant clear sprue has two canopies each for the F-2A and the two seat F-2B. You can build one or the other, and...

I definitely agree with that. Some of that Tomytec stuff was/is wonderful.
Here's youtube review in English if you are interested to know more about this brand new things!
If I am off topic (probably) I am happy to drop this post , thank you, Bryan Lo

Stunning detail! And, as I said when I finished my Doolittle Raid B-25B, I reckon it's only a matter of time before someone replicates the entire deck of the Hornet, along with all 16 Mitchells. And no, it definitely won't be me! ;)
I recently picked up a couple of batches of gashapon from an ebay seller. There were six models all of Japanese subjects and I was particularly pleased that a Bandai Myrt was one of them. The other Bandai model was a Hiyabusa/Oscar. I recently did a back-to-back build of the...

I am a gashapon black hole- and proud of it - in that everything I buy gets built.
I'm right with ya Sergei! The only way I usually 'save' a kit, is if I happen to get a great price, and I purchase more than one. :D
My latest consignment from RadJapan touched down this morning comprising two P-61s and one Ki-45 Toryu.
Dealing with the latter first F-Toys has released the Ki-45 previously. It appeared in November 2006 in Work Shop Vol.9 Twin Aircraft Collection 2 and in that version came...

Just put this one together. It has to be one of the easiest F-Toys I have built and it looks superb in its NMF.
Mine arrived today from Hannants. Thought I would post a few photographs here as info on this kit is pretty hard to find.
Forgive the poor quality photos.
Overall - a very nicely engineered and finely detailed kit - well above average for a 1:144 kit. Nice...

Well, despite the postal update stating Dec - Jan, the parcel arrived today. Makes a change that something arrives a helluva lot earlier than advised. And Matt, both kits had their decals!
Just to add to Angus's review, three extra shots of the Electra kits. Firstly, the two...

We call that India Pale Ale here. Problem is the abbreviation IPA also stands for isopropyl alcohol and, whilst extremely useful on the modelling workbench, the latter doesn't make for the tastiest beverage!
