I have had my eye on this kit since it became available at Hannants. I decided to bite the bullet regarding the Mark 1 Mossie kit in order to get my hands on the BOAC decals - this was before Angus' kind offer - and the Piper was added to the order.
Both touched down this...

Bit odd this recent flash issue with a few Mark I releases. If memory serves me correct, the La-7 suffers similarly. Wonder why this is occurring with what are new moulds ... :?
The kit comes in a very large box and is extremely well packed. It comes with three sprues, which are larger than usual for the lower than usual number of parts. The giant clear sprue has two canopies each for the F-2A and the two seat F-2B. You can build one or the other, and...

I definitely agree with that. Some of that Tomytec stuff was/is wonderful.
Information on its release and the different versions was given here :
I just received one of the 3 versions, that of the Marines and here are some photos (I think the parts are identical for the other 2 liveries).

Here's youtube review in English if you are interested to know more about this brand new things!
If I am off topic (probably) I am happy to drop this post , thank you, Bryan Lo

Stunning detail! And, as I said when I finished my Doolittle Raid B-25B, I reckon it's only a matter of time before someone replicates the entire deck of the Hornet, along with all 16 Mitchells. And no, it definitely won't be me! ;)
I recently picked up a couple of batches of gashapon from an ebay seller. There were six models all of Japanese subjects and I was particularly pleased that a Bandai Myrt was one of them. The other Bandai model was a Hiyabusa/Oscar. I recently did a back-to-back build of the...

I am a gashapon black hole- and proud of it - in that everything I buy gets built.
I'm right with ya Sergei! The only way I usually 'save' a kit, is if I happen to get a great price, and I purchase more than one. :D
My latest consignment from RadJapan touched down this morning comprising two P-61s and one Ki-45 Toryu.
Dealing with the latter first F-Toys has released the Ki-45 previously. It appeared in November 2006 in Work Shop Vol.9 Twin Aircraft Collection 2 and in that version came...

Just put this one together. It has to be one of the easiest F-Toys I have built and it looks superb in its NMF.
Mine arrived today from Hannants. Thought I would post a few photographs here as info on this kit is pretty hard to find.
Forgive the poor quality photos.
Overall - a very nicely engineered and finely detailed kit - well above average for a 1:144 kit. Nice...

Well, despite the postal update stating Dec - Jan, the parcel arrived today. Makes a change that something arrives a helluva lot earlier than advised. And Matt, both kits had their decals!
Just to add to Angus's review, three extra shots of the Electra kits. Firstly, the two...
In addition to the discussion here :
the manufacturer 144th.co.uk marketed during the SMW in Telford, an English Electric P.1A of which here are some images (having of course bought this new model....)

We call that India Pale Ale here. Problem is the abbreviation IPA also stands for isopropyl alcohol and, whilst extremely useful on the modelling workbench, the latter doesn't make for the tastiest beverage!
Here are the pictures of the kit I just received :

I've seen D-ARUN variously reported as either a Do18D-1 or subsequent D-2. Either way, the D-1 was the model which introduced the two water rudders, so the kit would need a pair.
Will post photos later but this one just arrived. Initial assessment is positive although I have seen better. The panel lines are a bit heavy handed. Comes with a decent pilot figure but the cockpit detail is minimal and no instrument panel decals.
It has two types of rear...

OH MY!!! (in my best George Takei voice) Looking like this might be added to the collection!
The plastic in this kit is identical to that of the Revell TF-104G, with the exception of the Ace Corporation logo.
This comes with a very nicely done decal sheet.

The sheet is identical to the Revell release so the Revell instructions will suffice.
I bought this kit misled by the artwork which depicts an Italian AF machine... but no decals for this option. Fortunately, Mark I came to the rescue and I was able to use one of the options...
As you know, someone on this site builds a model of something from scratch or bits only for a kit to follow shortly thereafter.
When I heard that Densil launched a Lincoln not long after by kitbash of kits and bits, I said I'd sell Charlotte and Josh to finance the model. Well...
I received my Roden RC-135V/W yesterday and took some time this morning to look it over. Overall, I think it's a nice kit with only a few shortcomings. I also took some time to compare it with the Minicraft KC-135R. Here are a few pictures and a few of...

Good review
Roden's failing does seem to be the absence of a cockpit interior. Granted aftermarket may step in and perhaps they see this as a given? I mean why waste time effort and plastic on a basic cockpit interior, seats etc if they expect most modellers will swap it out...
First photo compares Platz (gray) vs. LS/ARII Weapon Set #2 (white). Specifically: Bullpup, Walleye and ARM-78:
This photo compares the Sidewinders and Sparrow missiles. Notice the differences in the mid-body fin placement of the Sparrows. I don't know who got it right. To...

I finally got the 3 sets and the jsdf one (for a total of 4).
Since I am not an expert, I can't answer if the parts are technically correct. But they are a must since many of platz kits, does not include weapons, and I wasn't able to get the old LS/Arii ones.
What I can give you...
A few days ago I've discovered this site , thathave a small but seems growing set of 1/144 accessories.
I've been looking for the F-16 T-Pod forever ( I really hope he'll create a pylon with Lightning pod too ... or even the combination tpod and HTS on the left , unlike...

Likewise re impressed with the wire core on rotor blades and landing gear. It's a really good feature of the kit design. Kinda shifts the weakest link away from the main rotors to the rotor hub.
Decided to pick up the H-21 as a result. Wish they would do a Husky and some...
Some photos as promised. Basically, I think this is a superb little kit.
The ribbing on the wings is very delicate I think (the last few Valom biplane releases have made the welcome step away from the engraved lines on the Pup, SE.5a, Albatros etc.)
No resin parts,...

Maybe control horns? That's what I've always called them with my 1/72 WWI modeling.
I recently ordered the three new 144 releases from Russia's CtA (Cut Then Add). They arrived from Moscow in a letter unlike any that I have ever received before...
Top marks for ensuring that there was sufficient postage on there.
The decals themselves are three of...

There is an UK angle on this, in principle once issued Post Office stamps remain legal tender. It is therefore potentially possible to buy old/vintage stamps at less than face value and use them on a contemporary package.
However, these days if your package is too large any...
This series has been running for a while and although the brand name being used is Luppa it is the usual Amercom format of a model and a magazine. Some models from previous releases of the series make an appearance in this one which is largely a mix of 1:72 and 1:144 and there...
This is Heavy Hobby's Lynx 6x6 ATV (MLRS version) from . It's 3D printed in a peach-coloured resin(?) material, and the detail is superb. I bought it from a Chinese seller on eBay for ~£11 + shipping as part of a larger order. A full gallery of images is .
So eh, yeah, the Hawker Tempest V/Sea Fury has been one of my favorite piston engine fighters of the WWII/Post-War era. If the Tempest was compared to the F6F Hellcat (not really, most considered it like a P-47 Thunderbolt), then the Sea Fury is the better follow-up, the 47...

Nice review thanks! I love this kit and a rerelease would get a thumbs up from me. Perhaps against the Bearcat (an updated mould) in a sort of friendly versus.
For completeness, I have the Miniwing Sea Fury, and the F-Toys kit is miles better. The only quirk of the Miniwing...
My consignment from the ever excellent Akira-San arrived this morning. I thought about getting a full box of ten but in the end decided to select five: the Mk.Ia; a Mk.IIb; the pink PR Mk.VII; the black Bf-109E and the archetypal BoB Bf109E scheme - pale blue with splinter...

Okay, so how’s the general fit and finish off the mold? Eeeeh, good but a bit “flashy”. I would recommend dragging the edges through 1250 or 1500 grit once just to sand away some of the excess plastic at the edges. Joins are fairly crisp....
