During the summer in July, while working at the museum, I found a 1/48th scale Bandai Willys Jeep model kit in the gift shop. I never really built any armor (or even vehicles for that matter!) but since my father and I operate a 42...
Talking about models, a very good friend of mine said that he'd like to make a model of AN-2 as a tribute to his two friends...
But he has no skill for painting figures, so I made them for him and I'm very proud to have completed this mini project in 1/72.
It was also a...
I'm sure many know of you guys remember (or at least have heard of the) Bachman Mini-Plane Series from the 60s-70s. My father would tell me about them from his childhood, as I became fascinated with all things miniature. Eventually he started collecting them again and we ended...

Stroll down memory lane.
Bought a few in 1968 (Franklin's 5&10 store Lincoln, Nebraska).
I had the SPAD, Fokker DR.1, YF-12, and F-105 Thunderchief. I still have pieces of the SPAD and DR.1.
I thought the WW I planes came closest to miniature representatives of the real planes...

Thank you for the G4M. I’m looking forward to it very much :D
I won’t get the other ones this time, but I will definitely watch out for more of your products in the future. You have an excellent selection!
All the best to you for the...
No Scale ModelWorld 2020 but ....
You'd like to look at some images from the 2019 competition, at scales other than 1/144 ???
It's worth the detour....
For example, the winner .... :

So, interested ....? :o    So see the posts below :
I have several chibi style planes, I like them . I saw in this section a couple of post about new kits but no one with finished models. There are some chibi addict like me? Please show your models!
This is an AFV Club F-104 with Italian livery (custom decals)

OOOOOOH but it's supercute!!! The design is great, you need to find someone could be interested to produce it in resin, maybe Retrowing. He has different chibi style models and accessories.
Saw one of on evilBay this morning. Now that IS different! AMP is another of the Ukrainian companies producing kits in various scales, including our beloved one. Even though a bit of Whiffery, I still wouldn't mind getting one of these if it appeared in 1/144. And yes, as one...

A '58 Edsel! Thanks, David. I was trying to recall what the grill of this thing reminded me of. ;)
So, recently Patch went to visit a pediatric hospital, a very poor one ...
It must be said that the institute in question is very old but kept clean despite appearances ... look at what kind of Teddy bear there is (it looks like IT's cousin )...
It's a 54...

Brilliant - also could be Joaquin Phoenix in Joker! Very well done.
Star Wars Box Scale Star Destroyer and Super Star Destroyer.
The purists would hate the paint schemes. Definitely not the best work ever done (couldn't get the seam out of the SSD)

Having to retrain so modelling is at a minimum.......

Firstly, a beautiful trio of spacecraft, Ian. And secondly, you two have got me reminiscing about all those Chris Foss illustrations on SF paperbacks in the 1970's ... Isaac Asimov, E.E. Doc Smith, Arthur C. Clarke. Quite astounding, particularly when you read the following in...
Many years ago I found this photo of a russian soldier playing a piano. Photo is from Grozny, during the First Chechnya War. Many sources indicate it from 1994 but it's 1995, think february ...
Anyway, used Verlinden's piano keyboard (only that :D ) and some figure pieces....
Just completed the Hurricane that Andrew Mamedoff was unfortunately killed in. These two will now be going to the museum to become a small display to honor Mamedoff. Still not wowed by the Hurricane's prop and hub so I might replace or change it later.

Thanks guys! Both models are now on display alongside a 1/48th scale Helldiver made by museum President, Gene Madara.
Tomy 1/150 Toyota Crown converted to R/C - this is quite a fascinating due the amount of scratch building and electronics fitted into such a small space!
I almost managed to but the base on an Ikea chair the wrong way around last night!
80 years ago this month, this Mk.1 Spitfire was flown by Andrew Mamedoff of No. 609 Squadron during the Battle of Britain. Some sources say that he was born in Thompson, Connecticut, where his Russian family had settled in the early 1910s. At the very least he grew up in...

Well done, that looks very lovely indeed. Quite right that it should go on display. :)
Has that evil little viral sh!te claimed another victim in the modelling world? Until I was looking at something not directly related to this NZ-based company run by Sir Peter Jackson (he of Lord of the Rings fame) did I discover the news about its closure earlier this year, in...

It's a terrible shame. I suspect a contributing factor is the high level of financial scrutiny Jackson's business concerns came under in the wake of the Gene De Marco scandal.
(seemed a little slow on the loading/page transitions?)
This guys video goes into a bit more detail on the techniques and settings (though his manner is slightly irritating)

Absolutely brilliant in execution and creativity. Plenty of giggles here, too. Going to forward the links to my older daughter as she just loves these quirky things.
And I agree about the slowness of the page transitioning on the calendar. Thought it was this Lenovo Boat...
Sign of the times. Seems like Welsh Models have concurred the halcyon days of vacform kits are over because of the exponential rise in resin kits. Of course, the one area of vacforming that is still on the rise is that of canopies, and this is primarily because there's no viable...
Another display I'm working on for the Connecticut Air & Space Center is to show (through 1/72nd models) the evolution and history of our particular Goodyear FG-1D Corsair BuNo: 92460. I've already completed the two book ends Corsairs from Minicraft F4U-1D models. These are two...

Great idea! And yes, a few days of seagull deposits later, the Corsair would look more like someone had whitewashed the surfaces! :P
Perhaps I should do this Huey Medivac on display just outside the Dandenong Returned and Services League (RSL), which in turn is right on the...
First naval model in my life. Learned a lot, a lot more to learn. Pleased with the result overall. Technically there should be a strip of hull red between the silver and the black.
Silver, tried something new, was applied with a silver metallic Sharpie. The screws a gold...

Very smart. It’s a big beast isn’t it.
A few years ago I encountered an attack sub heading out on patrol as I was coming up the Clyde. It’s a relative midget compared to the Kursk but it just went on and on and on. Colossal thing.
This evening, I finished the first step of my diorama 'Scouts Out' which will be focusing on a LSSAH Sdkfz 231 surveying the approach to the Greek town of Vevi in 1941 before the battle of the same name. Name for the dio came from the excellent book about the German Armored...

Thanks Smeg! Given Dragon's recent spate of releases or re-releases in 1/144 I think your goal may not be far off. :D I like her ultimate form most though, the Puma.
