This SAM launcher bought on net, same as the 9P122 AT variant of BRDM-2. And had same problems.
Soft details, missiles and railings over sized.. but it is interesting so I finished it.

Yes, as you correctly said, or more, just yesterday nobody expected in 1/72 the level of details and accuracy we have, expect today in 1/144.
The RS-12M Topol intercontinental Missile system consists of two components: the transport and launch vehicle and the missile.

Marco, we are so used to seeing all of your aviation builds where pretty much everything is BIG. Good to see the mantra extends to your ground vehicles as well! Lovely stuff.
The BRDM-2 scout car and the variants are interesting to me, on net I find and bought resin 3D print of 9P122, the variant with 6 AT guided missiles Mljutka. Based on drawings and photos on net I draw 3D model and printed it. The difference betwen the bought one is big, the...
Those heady early days of Barbarossa. Before the mud, before the snow, before the blood and despair.
We drove for days along those endless Ukrainian roads, passing eternal wheat fields. Everything seemed so easy; but as days became weeks became months, these unending roads...

Thanks!
Actually it is dust pigment, the same as I have used on the road. In the rather harsh macro and photography light it does look white, but it is more of a light yellow.
A couple of resin Aufklarungspanzer 38s I picked up on Ebay a few years ago that I finally got around to painting.

Tank144 has produced some interesting kits over the years. He(I assume by his twitter hands) used to quite nice resins and moved into 3D printing and now has started printing in ' red resin which produces great result (as seen on twitter/eBay) along side white resin both of...
my next bad idea . The Car comes from Tori Factory (Strong Cars - MF-13B). I painted it in a typical Follow me Livery. The Dimensions of the car is 33x13mm, the squares are 3mm. The Lightbar is selfmade., I added windshield wipers and an Antenna.

Stunningly good job. I've always wanted to do a Follow Me Jeep (probably using the Arrowhead white metal kit) but reckon I'd go potty trying to get the chequerboard right. You've got it nailed!

With all this time on my hands I figured I'd try something different. Here is a WIP of a 1/144 Panther using oil paints. I like mixing to get the colors right although it is a little messy. I'm not so sure about the long drying time though. I'm sticking to an uncomplicated paint...

Looks as good as all your acrylic-painted gems. However, looking at the date on your previous post, I just hope that the oil paint didn't take 10 months to dry ... :P
Made a little project in between:
I had the Dodge WC-54 Ambulance Arrowhead white metal kit on my table for long, eventually I wanted to make space for something else. As I didn't find a place to to store it - I built it!
It's a nice little kit, you can even have the back doors...

Very nice. There’s something very nicely proportioned about the Dodge WC series. I don’t know - their faces just look right! Dodge sort of lost it with the M37. Much less attractive. Anyway you’ve done this WC justice - beautifully done.
1/144 Weapons and tools set available on Shapeways to jazz up your vehicles. I've got 2 ordered and if anyone is interested I can post photos when they get here.

Smooth Fine Detail is great for getting things in scale but the trade-off is that very fine parts are susceptible to warping and breakage during the posting process. And that is despite Shapeways going to town on the bubblewrap! ;)
As already said in a different forum, I recently bought a couple of 3D-printed trucks from panzershop.nl. I am quite happy with the quality, only downside is the detail of the lower chassis/axles and the fact, that they don't sell decals for the entire range (they do for German...

Hi Fritz,
Oh absolutely. Nothing beats plastic sheets. It’s clearly the best way to do it.
During the building of this model used for the photoshoot for the package and website, I thought to add the classical coin to check the real dimensions of the model. But modeler mind doesn't work normally so I decided to embed the coin into the scene to turn it more interesting...
Another beautiful (and fairly quick) build from the old man for the 1/144th scale Jolly Rogers Airfield Diorama we're currently building at the Connecticut Air & Space Center. I'll let him take it away:
This is a build sequence of a 1/144th scale WWII Airfield Fuel Truck It's...

Truly outstanding! Please keep us advised of progress on the diorama, which I am sure will be breathtaking. I visited the Museum about 10 years ago, and need to go there again soon. Thanks for the great post!
Didn't have much time during the last weeks (and won't have in the ones to come), but there's always some time and space for a little bit of modeling! 8-)
Being limited in space, I decided to start my first armored vehicle in 144 - and, to make it even more of a first night, in...

Thanks for the kind replies!
As to home made decals: I'd just love to do them myself, but have no idea how much I would have to invest in a printer capable of printing decals like the licence plates in the pics. They are tiny but 4-color and perfectly readable!
Bad news from PG Models
On its blog, PG Models announces that it is ceasing its activity.
Paul Gandy produced models at the N Gauge scale (1/152) but which were perfectly compatible with the 1/144.

I get the classic deckchair pose, the man with the bats and the dog too! But why are so many doing lunges and who are the guys with rifles? RAF Regiment?
Also wondering, do people...

Interesting to see, how the Shermans all differ a little, not only in size but also in (level of) details. Without a scale picture of the real thing it's hard to say which one is the most accurate
