The present situation in the Ukraine has impacted many of us far more than we might have imagined. This Group Build is therefore a celebration of the positive impact the Ukraine has had upon our modelling world. A build of any kit from a Ukrainian manufacturer is welcome here. A build of any Ukrainian subject, irrespective of the origin of the kit, is also most welcome. For obvious reasons, the one limitation is that the build does NOT feature any weapons involved in the current conflict. If in doubt, just ask.
Runs from 20 March 2022 to the end of the current conflict.
As discussed, here is the latest Group Build, brought on by the sad situation we are presently witnessing. We have already chatted about the scope of this GB and I'm sure we will see many fascinating builds of both kits originating in the Ukraine (and we've noted just how many...

“ I discovered this reference today” - Wow! This seems to open up just about all Soviet and lend-lease types! Matsievich‘s Spitfire IXe with clipped wings looks good. Thanks for finding this, Smeg.
Pilatus Turbo Porter PC-6, Austrian Air Force, 4. Flä/FIR 1, late '90s.
Big Planes Kit, oob with minor scratch modifications, brush painted with Vallejo and Revell colors.

I was looking for such a list and, after reading through all the posts so far, came up with this list;
A&A Models
AMG
AMP
AModel
Armory
BPK
Clear Prop!
Dora Wings
ICM
Mars Models
Mikro Mir
Roden
Sova-M
Unicraft
Have I missed any?
To try and keep things simple, I haven't...

I moved it, Marco. ;)
And despite how many companies are depicted, it is actually missing Unicraft! Once again, I sincerely hope Igor's home and garage resin model works in Mykolaiv have survived the conflict whilst he and his family await repatriation in Lviv.
Slightly embarrassingly, whilst I do have several kits in the stash from Roden, MikroMir and Armory, it is only this 109 from the last mentioned that I've actually completed so far ...
Due to Smeg's post about fantastic 3d printed figures I also got a look at that vendor and 🤷🏻♂️ ..ordered ten us paratrophers to add to my C-47 Roden which have in stash.
And today decided to start, ... but Roden fitt perfectly in GB 🤦🏻♂️.
So here is my entrance to GB.
Washed...
I put some thought into my next build, considering a contribution to the Minicraft GB for which, naturally, I have several contenders in stock. However, I decided that rather than commemorate a defunct manufacturer best known for multiple re-issues of ancient kits of variable...

Very clean build! With a scheme like that, there's nothing you can hide with paint.
Although I know there is still a PC-6 pending in this GB, I'll start another one - however, not sure whether I'll ever finish it . . .
Reasons for starting this one were 1) I have it for long, 2) it fits in the GB, 3) it fits in the little Austrian AF collection I want to make....

New update. The cockpit was painted with Vallejo grey. The panels with aluminum and the displays with black. All this was then protected with matt lacquer. The wedding of the halves of the hulls can begin.
Recently acquired this 3-kit boxing in the eBay sale of the Lakespeed kit collection so decided to add it to this group build. As usual I will build as a captured example to add to that specific collection.
Kit provides three identical tiny sprues plus one extra with floats and...

Lovely work as usual and a nice clean finish on that light grey as well.
I considered starting with the Roden Jetstar but I couldn't decide if I would do the original presidential aircraft or a NASA one. Instead, I will try to build this Amodel trio until I decide what to do about the Jetstar:
Antonov An-14
Antonov An-28
PZL M28B (ok, not really...

I HATE tailsitters! I do everything to bring them on their proper wheels - including not buying those where I see little or no chance  , like little trainers made of solid resin.
An option I always have in my mind is, however, supporting the unwilling tail with some...
On a recent visit to Europe I was exposed to two different inspirations, (1) Tim’s wonderful vignettes witnessed at Telford Show and (2) the sculptures of David Cerny to be seen in and around Prague, Czech Republic. One of Cerny’s...

In keeping with these out of left field links to the current conflict, check out . Definitely cries out for some 1/144 attention if you can locate an ATS-59's running gear ...
Time to get back to my favorite GB (actually the only GB that I have ever contributed to having up til now simply lurked and watched others).
Next up should be a fairly easy build from Armory’s twin pack of Yakovlev Yak-1b fighters. I have previously built the Brengun early...

I echo everyone else's comments. A lovely job indeed. Because of my experience with Armory's Emils, I decided to skip this one but seeing your lovely kit I'm almost having second thoughts ;) !
Obviously there's something about the Mikro Mir trainers . . . 8-)
I've had the Yak-11 for some time already and have to admit, that I even started to canninalize the decal sheet
Well, there are two models in the kit and plenty of decals, so I decided to start it now....

A beautiful model and perfect finish.
Trainers generally don't seem to pick up much wear in use so glossy finish seems appropriate
Late to the party again..... So I have been prevaricating for months on this one and finally decided to get a hold of these kits, The B-36B turned up first while the D variant is still in transit along with a set of Caracal's decals. She is big and definitely not a...

Glad to hear your recovery is going well Ian.
I believe we all end up being our worst critics, which isn't bad as it helps us improve, but can often be a killjoy and a source of frustration. More often than not, there is something nagging me about the finished kit but in the...
While casually browsing at the East Midlands model show last weekend I came across this little number for a mere £8. Its a kit I've thought about before but never been interested enough to pay full price for.
Well, impulse got the better of me and now it sits on my bench....

Before fitting the etch etc. I decided it would be easiest to try immersing the Peral in water effect. Unlike Mike's magnificent U-boat scene, this will be a much calmer Mediterranean sea.
Doing it as something of a personal challenge. I built one of these last year in Finnish colours and wasn't happy with the end result, particularly the rigging. So I decided it was time to try again.
OK, I almost didn’t try another entry in this GB because I couldn’t think of another clever title, and certainly nothing to compare with Merlin’s ‘Playing a Blinder’ masterpiece! However I have this beautiful looking Clear Prop kit for a Mitsubishi Ki-51 Sonia that comes with...

Thanks to all for generous comments.
This is an excellent 1/144th kit of a slightly unusual subject. My only negative comment about the kit would be the speculative nature of some of the color schemes although it has sure added some interesting decals to my spares box! Oh, and...
While the minute UT-1 was on the shelf (waiting for some paint to cure), I've started a new model for the this group build, a Canberra Mk.20, using the A-model kit (a model I actually bought in Kharkiv).
So far, I'm just fiddling around with the fuselage.
Cheers

As you can see from , there are no upper wing roos. Not always the case, but there's several photos of camouflaged RAAF Canberras where these roos have left the building.
I got this soon after it came out, not just because it's in 1/144, which is the most sensible scale for aircraft of this size, but because it's a training aircraft.
(I'm rather fond of training aircraft).
Lots and lots of parts, with the fuselage broken up to allow it to fit...

Very nice! A beautiful result of a beautiful aircraft - made from a maybe not so beautiful kit . . . :D
Do I have somewhere to store this even if I do finish it? Nope.
I have one of each of Roden's C-133s - the A, the A plus ICBM and the B. It's a huge and really good value kit, from what I can see. You can pick these up for £20-30 and it is properly big. It...

Two months since I last updated this - crikey.
Well I've been chipping away at it. The engines have been a bit of a bear to get right. Big seam on the top that has to be sorted, then the fit to the wing is not brilliant.
This will be my first participation on a KampfGruppe144 Group Build, as I could not miss out on this one.
Ukraine is a country I've visited several times and I simply can not believe such thing can be happening. I was already shocked in 2014 and now it is much worse. Me and my...

For those with Facebook, Marco posted some of these photos on . Definitely worth sharing with a wider audience, including the company itself. :D
OK, how many of you were drawn in by the title?
This is going to be the MikroMir Yak-23 (NATO reporting name, Flora) wearing USAF markings. The actual aircraft was a Romanian AF defector flown to Yugoslavia in 1953. After flight testing by the Yugoslav AF the aircraft was...

Thanks to all for the kind words. Once again you pull me back from the precipice and prevent me from falling on my own sword. And it’s not easy to jump off a cliff and hit a small target like a pointy sword so I’m extra grateful!
