Another 'Special' from Fantastic Plastic.

Only the slightest of seam lines to remove and the vaguest hint of slight warping with the forward and rear 'booms'.

I've embellished the exhaust outlets with slices of plastic tube. This brings the model in-line with the drawings of the real thing.

Image

Speaking of the real thing, it was 100% CGI, which creates a problem for the modeller trying to build a realistic model, especially when trying to replicate the 'busy' areas of the craft.
When models are used for filming, all manner of greeblies are used to enhance areas of the model. These are often bits of standard tank and other vehicle kits.

So, the caster of this model, a certain genius by the name of Alfred Wong, has used artistic modeller's licence and added his own greeblies, to enhance the model's 'busy' area around the engine;

I've also drilled out the guns;

All these years and I've never, ever had cause to use my H101. That said, it is THE perfect green;

A bit of masking and most of the basic painting is now done. The grey is H127 and the fine black bands are Revell 9 Anthracite. I've used different Mr.Metalcolor shades for the guns and engines.

I'm now thinking about weathering.

I indulged in a little weathering play, once I'd applied the excellent decals from JBot.

Loved "Babylon 5". So sad to see Mira Furlan (Delenn) passed away earlier this year, though. RIP. :cry:
