Y-Wing "Heavy"...

Doesn't matter if it is factual or fictional, if it's out of this world, it goes here!

Y-Wing "Heavy"...

#1

Post by MattP »

I posted this yesterday on ARC:

I have an idea... ( I know, before anybody says "don't hurt yourself, go take a nap")... Bandai's Y-Wing is much more refined and more detailed than F-Toys. BUT F-Toys Y-Wing is a tad bit LARGER than Bandai's. So here's what I'm considering... Making a Y-Wing "HEAVY" Attack Ship... Using the larger engines from F-Toys with the Bandai main body. Making the F-Toys forward fuselage larger and adding a 'quad' gun, BUT using Bandai's smaller cockpit canopy (mucho modified) for a 2 person crew. Also because I'll be enlarging the forward fuselage, having 4 torpedo tubes instead of 2. This where I'm at right now. It's an idea, a concept, and I'm getting my respective kits in place. In the STAR WARS Universe why not...

Your opinions please...

Sounds like a plan, but can we have some pre surgery shots of the plastic for comparison?

Well, it's called science fiction for a reason - and it's a craft used by a rebel faction, where creative "field modifications" are relatively plausible. ;)

I nearly missed that fact that the original post and my reply date back nigh on 3 years ago! So Matt, DID the "Heavy" get off the ground?

There is soo much that was presented after this post that the Y-Wing heavy was buried... BUT it is not dead! Just in prolonged 'Department of Republic Defense' "beta-testing'...

Wow... So much has happened since this first post......
