Mosquito

Post by bootneck42 »

I've just returned from a holiday in the U.S. where I picked up a couple of nice second-hand Mosquitos in a hobby shop.

Does anyone have any info on them please?

Mike

They were a tenner each (don't know if that was a good buy) but they only had two; being sold on behalf of a customer I believe, otherwise I would have bought more.

2005? quite old then and likely before I started collecting 1:144 stuff, hence why I didn't know about them.

cheers

10 US dollars or 10 quid? If it's the former, you've definitely got a bargain. I've seen them go for in excess of $US20 on evilBay. Topical because an example of the silver one DID sell on auction last week. I bid around $US12 (can't afford much more at the moment with the crappy exchange rate) and was blown out of the water.

I bought my original pair of F-Toys' Mossies, along with the similarly aged Bandai example, in 2007 when they were OOP but still fairly readily available. Wanted another to refinish as a RAAF bird, hence the recent bid on evilBay. The Mossie is a definite example of an aircraft that needs to be revisited in 1/144. Are you listening Sweet, Eduard, Mark I, Mikro Mir, et al?

A constructed Bandai Mossie sold on evilBay the other day for well under $US10. I'm kicking myself for not bidding but was instead fixated on getting to work on time. Dammit!
