Anigrand - best for accuracy, choice or value?

It's getting near to time for me to look for another Anigrand model, in preparation for the long autumn and winter evenings. Which kit do you think is a good choice:
either for the range of main kit and bonus items;
or detail and accuracy;
or even just good value for money.

Oh heavens, every box of Anigrand is full of delight! I can't think of one that doesn't deliver it's value.
I wouldnt like to not recommend certain kits just because they don't suit my interests.
what are you interested in just now? narrow it down. 1930s? 1960s? 1990s? Luftwaffe, RAF, US Navy? etc?

Mostly postwar, preferably British; although USN and USAF subjects can be popular, just not certain how good in terms of detail or bonus choices etc. Not interested in WW2 Luftwaffe stuff.

Of the postwar British stuff I love the Sperrin box - some great bonuses in there in the Javelin, Kestrel and Short SBwhatshisface (lightning-lookalike that provided useful data for EE).

The Valiant box also has some good bonuses - most of RAF Cosfords experimental hall.

Otherwise I love the Convair Tradewind boxes. There's a "sale" (i.e. Still pretty spenny) on some Anigrand at Hannants right now - mostly wartime or pre-war USAF designs.

Looking forward to some good build threads...

It used to be the case that the earlier pops were of better quality of the later ones once the molds had got tired!? *may other folks here could advise of recent performance??

Certainly in previous years early examples of a production run where better quality than those still being sold sometime later. Overall, I think the general quality appears to have improved with regards to fit etc

Can't speak to that. Are you suggesting a 'vintage' kit might be better than a fresh one from the factory, at least of the older sets?

Agree with AJM that the Javelin is the prize in the Sperrin box.
I have the three V bomber boxes. i adore all of them, but havent started anything.
I guess there is a better IM Vulcan kit out there now, but the Saunders Roe flying boat is a real treasure.
The Victor has the very appealing Belvedere helicopter in the box, and possibly the most beautiful of the three big V aircraft.

Of the US Navy sets, Id go with the gull wing Mariner. an amphibian at home on dry land, and you get the F7F tigercat, the most badass propjob that ever flew off a flattop. The Helldiver is nicely rendered, I have actually built that kit. I think the french used it in Indochine, and they lasted in the USN reserves to the end of the 1950s.
