Hello from France!

#1

Post by ID19 »

Hi all,
my Name is Fritz, I'm German but currently live (and am confined) in France.
Happy to finally having a chance to join the Forum and introduce myself!
I'm old enough to having started our hobby with the old Airfix Series 1 bagged kits (first one being the P-40 Kittyhawk - because of the shark mouth). Built almost everything in almost all scales and sometimes not at all - now I'm in 144 almost exclusively (yes, storage is an issue).
I like jets, helis and props from the 50's/60's, but I also like trying to make a decent model from a simple kit, like the old Revell Micro Wings. For someone with my limited skills this is sometimes more rewarding than tackling a perfect kit and not finishing it to own expectations.
Cheers to the Forum and happy modelling
Fritz

Ouch, the old revell wings.

However, the old juts such as the revell Dr. 1 triplane is one of my earliest molding memories!

I was going to say "bienvenu" but "willkommen" might be more appropriate! Reckon we are of a similar era judging by your early purchases. Really miss being able to go into a supermarket and buy either an Airfix Series 1 or Frog Black Series off the hanging rack. Here in Oz, it's pretty hard find an outlet that sells models nowadays, much less 1/144. Most of us have been sustained by evilBay buys, although Mr Hawkins (the previous post) actually got around to casting his own models in resin.

And yes, there's a number of us who've taken on the Revell MicroWings' "challenge"!

Obviously it works fine, so here's two more
- Valom Bristol Fighter in an (a little inventive) post war livery.
- H-21 Shawnee German Army with some (actually quite a lot) scratch additions/corrections/detailing

Hope you like it

Wel done. I especially like the scratch building additions you have done AND I like the intricate Bristol Fighter, How did you do the rigging?
