Wherein Dragon re-package a pair of poor-mediocre kits, for us to enjoy!

Being Dragon, the cockpits are adequately filled with crew;

The F-16 is way better than the older Academy/LS? and still has 'issues' around the intake;

Image

Before joining the pieces together, I spent time opening up that hole! The pipe at the other end also need some attention;

A similar tale was to be told over the Flanker intakes;

Today, it's easy to become complacent and used to the wonders produced by Revell, Sweet and their ilk.
Not so long ago, these kits were considered the mutt's nuts;

Still...nothing a bit of sanding and application of liquid superglue to the plastic dust-filled cracks can't solve!

To be fair to Dragon, you do some some decent ordnance, with spares for the box and the decals were fine. Whilst I'm more than happy enough with the Flanker, I'm afraid that the canopy and nose of the Viper let it down.

The stand was made from a plastic bottle, with acrylic rod supporting the two jets.

The colours for the Sukhoi were the same as those used for my Hasegawa Flanker D.

I think I made both of those kits back in... what.. 1988? 1987? When they were sold individually (before the 2pack release)

Nice colours sir.

If I had the time and (right now) the ability, I'd LOVE to do them again with Trumpeter's kits and DML's decals...

Will definitely be using the revell kit for the f-14. Not much choice for the su-22 though!

I really didn't like the F14 in that kit.. but I liked the SU22.
