Wonderful! I too wish I had a halfway decent mosquito in 144. This is really whetting my appetite.

I have been temped by the Mark 1 offering but from what I have seen I'll give it a miss as short run models just don't it for me as I just get sick of mucking round with them to my stupid expectations.

To be honest, I've never quite considered Mark I kits as "short run" although, now that I look at the catalogue, there's several in my stash that are no longer listed. Whilst they are not shake-and-bake, and there are the odd issues with fit and accuracy, I wouldn't discount most of them.

Oddly enough, I am accepting of many of the foibles of manufacturers. OK, I have sworn far more than I should at the MikroMir Argosy (which, to be fair, would be classified short run anyway), and the less said the better about a certain ancient Crown kit that I acquired thanks to Minicraft, but generally I pretty tolerant. My expectations start and end with my own abilities. And that's definitely MY problem!

Yeah I see where you are coming from Smeg... I am just getting grumpy in my old age when it comes to kit building.... I'm just plain lazy really. I like things to go together without 6 hrs of surgery, but as I said I'm lazy. :D

Shiny polish and the last few bits painted.

Hello All,

Just about there, panel line washed, flatcoat sealed and enamel filter applied blue for the PRU and Red for the tail and a bit of the fuselage proximal to the tail. Have also done the exhaust staining with the port engine running a bit richer. Just need to add some post shade staining and complete the assembly.

Colours used - had to dilute the blue filter a bit more.

Stunning, absolutely stunning. If I'm ever reincarnated, I want to have your weathering skills, Ian ...

Beautiful!! Superbly finished!! Indeed the PRU Blue with the red is a real eye-catcher.
I have three or four of the series 3 kit in my stash. I'd be really happy if any came out nearly as well as yours.
