Well, I like the idea of NATO / Cold War GBs,

But how about D-Day 75th anniversary GB ?

I reckon we need a vote. Is there a polling feature on this forum? I'm sure I've seen one somewhere...

Yes, if you create a new topic and scroll down to the poll creation tab, it opens up the poll page.

I can't recall if it's open to everyone (I'm doing this in the dark on my phone). If no, then I'm sure Smeg will be on the case (he has the admin permissions to do it).

We always used to use Pollcode. It appears that the site is still active and, importantly, free. How's about a last call for suggestions until Sunday morning my time? I will then collate the options and activate the poll. And, based on feedback I've read, how does 6 months duration sound? Remember that we can always overlap with a second GB possibly of shorter duration if members really want it. However, based on the somewhat lukewarm response when the biplanes and Vietnam War GBs ran concurrently, my feeling is to just go with the single GB.

Personally, F_IV's suggestion of a 1919 - 1939 "Between the Wars" GB appeals as I had plans of doing a few Spanish Civil War builds this year. I still will whatever the decision on a GB is ... I'm sure Lluis would approve. ;)

After seeing those two lovely little Wapitis in the RAF GB, it got me thinking all the other scope for between the wars builds.
I’ve been gathering references for Gloster Gamecocks and Nakajima A1N’s over the last couple of months. Plus I still have a lifelong hankering for a Heyford and a Dragon Rapide to name a few...

Agree. Compared to other eras, the 1919 - 1939 period isn't particularly well represented in 1/144 in terms of mainstream kits. Love to see a Heyford or a Bombay in our scale and, like you, I'd kill for the long-OOP Aeroclub Dragon Rapide. I had secretly harboured the wish that Amercom had added a diecast Heyford to the mix when they announced their "RAF 100" magazine-and-model series. But that thought quickly evaporated when they pulled the plug after only 9 issues. And what about all those German and Italian designs? Still waiting for a Ju86!

Back when the family visited Hawaii in 2013, I picked up a copy of Dana Bell's Air Force Colors Vol. 1 from the military museum next door to the motel we were staying at. So many interesting aircraft, so many weird and wonderful paint schemes. In terms of resin, there's a Martin B-10 from Kami de Koro Koro, a P-26 from Fairy Kikaku and a number of US Army designs from Anigrand (must try and get the Airacuda from the XB-15 set). In terms of 3D-printings, Dragoman does a P-26 and Kampfflieger a number of aircraft including the Curtiss A-8 and A-12 Shrikes. However, when it comes to injection-moulded options - and I'm including gashapon here - precious little satisfaction. How we haven't had a Peashooter yet is beyond me.

Yeah the interwar period is tricky. Although I can think of a few manufacturers ranging from Valom, Zvezda, Mark I and Armory. It still might not be enough however without straying into resin or conversion territory.

Red Stars could be another category to look at. There's certainly heaps of Russian aircraft available and it would make for an interesting change...

All very topical for me ... I just got my little parcel of paints from BNA, to which I'd added the Armory Polikarpov I-15 bis. ;)

Cool, voted! 8-)

Just an idea... this subsection of the forum isn't too visible to the casual eye. Is it worth putting a notice in the News and GD sections with a link to the poll as well?
