Be intrigued to hear how much you paid for these, nils. Every time I go into a local hobby shop which stocks Minicraft, the kits have increased in price. I mean $AUS23 for that misshapen Spitfire that dates back to a 1973 Crown mould? Sadly, the B-17G is similarly outdated, although it is a lot better than the Lancaster that Crown released at the same time. On the other hand, I believe the Orion is a neat kit, whilst I can attest that the Catalina is one of Minicraft's better efforts.
OTB ...
GB18 - ???
GB19 - ???
SoS - Lancaster B.VII (Crown), CAC CA-19 Boomerang (KdK), Me262A-1a/U4 (Eduard/RetroWings)

Isn't the Arii Orion the same as the LS kit?

Agree the Minicraft Catalina is a decent kit although I think the Cafe Reo "Big Bird" series model is slightly better ( that might reflect my bodged build of the Minicraft however)

Greg, I also find Minicraft prices extreme high for what they offer. But sometimes you can get lucky. Last month I won an ebay auction for a B-17G. I paid 5.50 euros in total, with shipping. πŸ˜ƒ
But unfortunately, this is not the rule and most auctions end up with absurd prices.

It's luck ofdraw - plus a touch of ignorance on the part of the sellerπŸ˜€ . I managed to get a late model C-130 by Minicraft along with an aftermarket stretched fuselage for an RAF version and a load of bits from the old Revell/Matchbox Herc kit for about Β£20.00 including postage. Granted that was about 5 years ago and I doubt lightning strikes twice on such deals. I still haven't scrounged decals for an RAF Herc though.
