It's happening again...

#1

Post by Josh1971 »

I've recently been back into the modeling again. Well, more active in it- I never leave it. But lately there's been some "Acquisitions", and I'm getting back to it. Hopefully some of the stuff arrives soon- today I should get my Minihobby JGSDF Type 90 tanks, and hopefully my package from Rise Models with some good stuff. I've also purchased, but haven't gotten yet, an F-Toys AW109 chopper, and a Chinese H-6 bomber.

Also some 1/700 naval stuff.

Oh, and also (because for some reason I always need more of these) some F-16s and MiG-29s.

Well I already had to contact an ebay seller because he only sent half of what I ordered from him. :|

But I got it in my head that "my" navy was lacking a little, and so that's why I've ordered some ships, and just finished some 1/700 aircraft to upgrade the air wing on my HMS Ark Royal.

And here in a bit, when I get back from a trip I'm going on, I am thinking my ground forces need more armor...

This stash will just keep getting bigger, but I am building again, so there's hope.

Same- I'm getting a late birthday present (My b-day was Feb 28th), which will be a 1/700 kit, but I have a number of those, so that's not a new thing. The kit I'll be getting is the Japanese carrier- errr, sorry, "anti-submarine cruiser" Izumo. Tons of whirlybirds included with the kit, but I ordered 6 little F-35Bs for the deck as well.

It is great. I have one I’ve been dithering with as the nose looks wrong to me but it’s a beautifully cast and designed kit for sure. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!

I'm still trying to decide that. I was told that if you are really good at it, you can show the bomb bay open. I'm not sure I'm that good, but on the wings, I'll probably have some sort of things that blow up. If I can procure some, I'll try to load Sea Eagle ASMs.

I recently picked up an Aoshima 1/700 kit of the Hyuga DDH and the Hasegawa Izumo class refit (following deck reinforcements to allow use of the F-35B). And finally the Pit Road 1/700 ski jump to modify the Izumo class (apparently this is a planned future conversion).

I will have to see if I can track down some extra F-35B for the deck.

There's a guy who sells a set of 6 F-35B on Shapeways. I've bought from him to upgrade my "what if" HMS Ark Royal, and now the Izumo, oh, and my kit of the USS Wasp.

So... My fleet is "modernizing"..
