Couldn't walk past this

If I ever said something snotty or absolutist about Hobby Lobby (widespread retail chain over here), I take it back. I will be visiting every location in reach.

I now have five Minicraft 707 kits, and by the way seven Contrails cockpits. Ive built two, plus a Frog one.
This one is my favorite box art, mainly because I and my family flew on this very aircraft in 1970, between Kwajalein and Hono. But also the box art show the turbofan engines with the organ pipe jet nozzles, which is an amusing error! :P Don't do it like that folks!
Minicraft has/had three different engine sprues, but the jet pipes, two different lengths, are on the main sprue in every box.

“ I will be visiting every location in reach.” - I guess I need to plan my drive home for tomorrow. Think we have three HL branches around the Wichita area.

Great score!
In the past, I was able to get some great deals with the weekly "40% off" coupon (now discontinued), "40% off" monthly and pop-up "clearance" sales.

Been in the same city for almost 20 years and sadly I have seen our Hobby Lobby model airplane display significantly reduced over the years to make room for Gundam and Star War kits that are popular with kids today.

Our store used to stock some great Tamiya and Academy aircraft kits.

Recently, the store is stocking some Airfix (Spitfire, P-51, P-40) and Atlantis but mostly Revell re-pops kits.

Don't complain as long as you have any hobby shop in the vicinity!

Fritz, it's great that Mark (mtcc75) doesn't live far away as the number of 1/144 kits at the closest hobby shops are dwindling fast. As F_IV may have noticed, Metro Hobbies seem to have greatly reduced their stock (unless everything went from Box Hill to the city store), and the odd new addition is priced beyond what I reckon is reasonable.

As for $US3.79, that's some bargain! Unless it was the Minicraft Lancaster, where anything paid is too much.
OTB ...
GB23 - PBY-5A Catalina (Minicraft), F6F-3K Hellcat (Platz)
Non-GB - Pe-2 Peshka (Decapod 3D)
