F_IV's Curtiss F9C-2 Sparrowhawk

The two decades between the First and Second World Wars saw major advances in all areas of technology. In military and civil aviation, flimsy wood and canvas biplanes and triplanes gave way to sleek all-metal monoplanes. The lumbering "land ships" of WW1 were replaced by maneuverable tanks and armoured cars. In this GB, anything that was developed and operated between 1919 and 1939 (but not WW2) is fair game.
Runs from 10 August 2019 to 26 January 2020.

Of course, F_IV is already steeling himself for the imminent announcement of a set of Sparrowhawk kits from Mark I or gashapon from F-Toys ... :P

Exactly! I'm putting my money on Dora Wings to suddenly come out with one. If somebody does though, at least I would be able to plunder them for the white "USS MACON" lettering for the fuselage sides. So have at it I say.

Nearly there now. Lots of little things to do, like nav lights, seat straps, windscreen frames and two seriously inaccessible bracing wires between the wings. Really looking forward to seeing it finished after all these years!

Another spectacular model!
I think it is the best yet and certainly NEEDS to be shown in a popular modelling magazine and online to show others what is possible in 1/144!

Peter

Challenge accepted! I've just sent an email off to Mr Brett Green who handles the submissions for Military Illustrated Modeller. Attached some shots of this and a few others. We'll see what happens ;)

A work of art. Off the scale sir. That is very special indeed. I think I agree with Peter - possibly your best yet. Though mind you it was pretty difficult to beat the Hurricane and Battle in my book. Oh and that Tempest.
