It's all Angus' fault!

I have been meaning to get the flight deck vehicles, by Brengun, ever since I saw the build by Angus in his Cold War group build. Well, I have now decided to get those little beauties but what sort of base to display them on..............?

.............How about this?

It should look OK as a base for those vehicles.

Those cutting mats are A2 and it covers five of them.

Ha! I'm glad to have been the source of such angst!

Well I'd say that looks pretty excellent. How many are you planning?! Are you going to build an aircraft carrier underneath it or is that just for displaying vehicles?

Would you like the spares of mine that I didn't complete? All parts are there, except for the decals - the kit only provides decals for one truck. From memory I think I have one start cart, one fire engine, one land-based power unit and perhaps one tow truck. Yours if you want them - PM me if you do and I'll pop them in the post this week. Equally - you might just want to build yours from scratch, which I could understand.

Hi Angus,

the plan is to complete this down to the waterline, however I am only concentrating on the flight deck and island for now. I still have the Ark Royal to finish, plus all her aircraft.
I would be grateful to get anything that would go with my build please. The plasic sheets and rod alone are taking up most of my spend (well, more actually but don't let Margaret know that!!) so I would be very happy to get anything from the spares box etc. I shall send you a pm.

cheers,

Mike

Yes, Angus does have a LOT to answer for. His consistent quality and unbelievable throughput have me constantly reaching for the valium! :P

And with first the Ark Royal and now this, I am also wondering just how large your residence is. With the current situation regarding team sports, you haven't taken over Wembley Stadium, have you?

Mike's abode, like the man himself, is modest! However his wife,Margaret, is very understanding and allows him a hobby room and a shed. It's a very neat set up.

I expect he'll be along to defend himself soon. (Which being an ex Marine will involve a dagger)

We live in a small bungalow so we don't have much space. I have had to move the two large carriers down to the shed, however I am running out of plastic card/sheet and so work has almost stopped on those beauties for now.
