Look, when I order I combine more pices and items so that is the printing surface full, and anyway it have his cost, and when you add shipping, taxes... It's all than cheap.
Because of that 3D printing is OK if that model doesn't exsist in other materials and serial production.
And I didn't speak about 3D design, the real cost of it.....

Re: LCVP in 1/144 - 3D
Finished
At the end it lookslike toy so I went with hard weathering, this one survived D-day and navigated long time in dirty portual waters
Barrels for 0.30 are bras pipe 0,50/030 mm and medical needle 0,3mm.
Rope for lifting ramp made from sewing thread, the smallest on , holes for passage is 0,2mm
Photography wit big brother LCM
Decals canibalized from AFV and planes in 72

Brilliant! It looks anything but "toy-like". I so must get into 3D printing ...

Perfect! Love the weathering and the little details you added, like the ropes!

Re: LCVP in 1/144 - 3D
Thk that few millimeters of rope costed me kilometers of my nerves
Trying to insert a end of line made stronger with CA in hole of diameter 0,2 mm.
I wonted to use the usci line but it hasn't aspect of rope.
Here is the 3D model which is send to print.
Firstly I wanted all deck separated from hull, for easier printing but also because my idea was to put the rope into mechanism for maneuvering ramp, on the oposite side of the skipper is winch for that.
