Forum upgrade

Good news

My ISP/Hosting company will be upgrading the servers, which means it will support newer versions of phpbb. This means I will be able to upgrade the forum and re-enable user self registration!!!

Cheers,
BD99

Yes great that it is back (for now at least) although it looks like nearly a months worth of posts have disappeared. Although as the system has been down for a fair amopunt of time in that period, its not going to be a huge number of posts that are missing.

Fingers crossed that things are sorted out and stable.

Unfortunately in recent times the forum has been up and down like kangaroos in the mating season. Hopefully the stability we enjoyed for so long has now returned. Don't know whether I should admit this but the month that has disappeared into the ether just happens to correspond with my most unproductive period in the man cave in more than 5 years. Looking at the postings in the Group Build, I've achieved sweet naff all since my last surviving entry. Go on, blame me, it's my fault everything went belly-up!

Sorry, its been a bit patch since the 29th June...

A number of issues, there was a ISP platform migration, then the was a technical failure requiring a back up that was *luckily* turned out to only be a few days old, then a week okay and then boom.
The latter issue looks like it was caused by a database setting that "appears to have got corrupted" not sure if that was related to the original platofrm migraiton (maybe they pulled the old serviers which had been mirrored to support the migration?), the restore and a combination of both ...??

Computers, eh!

Lets hope we are finally back on an even keel!

In any case, thanks for keeping at it. Image I quite like this little community.
