Convair B-36D/F/H/J Peacemaker - Roden

--Although planned during World War II, the first flight was deployed in 1946 as the mainstay of postwar nuclear strategy.
――When Britain was defeated in World War II, the plan to bomb Germany across the Atlantic Ocean started, and in 1941, Convair's proposal was adopted and development proceeded.
――The aircraft is equipped with six quadruple radial engines facing backwards in a semi-embedded type on the long main wing with the passenger compartment pressurized.
――The aircraft can fly 10,000 meters over 600 km, has a cruising power of 13,000 km with 4.5 tons, and has exceptional performance such as mounting 16 20 mm cannons on a remote-controlled turret as defensive equipment. was.
――The D type is a type with a jet engine added to the tip of the main wing, and it is an unprecedented aircraft with a total of 10 reciprocating jets.
――By adding a jet engine, the speed has reached 700km.
――F type is a type that replaces the reciprocating engine.
――The H type is a detailed repair type, and the J type is a type with the turret other than the tail removed to increase the fuel load.

That’s a healthy number of decal choices compared to Roden’s usual option of one. Also I understand that Rodens decals have improved a lot - no longer brittle and masses of carrier film, often out of register. So that’s nice.

There’s quite a lot of diehard agonising about this kit on another site. The canopies aren’t that clear apparently. Still - it’s a new B-36 kit. Not that I’ve yet done much with the few Hobbycraft ones I’ve acquired. :?

These machine translation algorythms are truly remarkable these days, they can re-write history as well now!

It will be interesting to see how it compares to the Hobbycraft models. My Hobbycraft examples are still unmade, sitting on the shelf as I'm really not sure where I would store/display the finished model...

I sent an email to Domi with RetrokiT to see he had plans to produce a cockpit for Roden's B-36.
His replied:
"I had not thought about it! I'll get a kit ASAP and set to work on that."

I also asked about a two seat Mirage 2000 conversion for Heller's kit and he said it is still in development because of "too many distractions" :( I know he has a lot of "irons in the fire" with Toon Tank conversions etc.
