Doyusha 1/144 B-1B

Postby PFSlater » Wed Aug 29, 2018 16:04

Hi,

I have been searching the net and found that Doyusha is doing a B-1B

http://www.doyusha-model.com/2018hobbys ... how_1.html

Not sure if this is prebuilt and painted or regular model kit.

Anyone out there know anything?

thank you

From my knowledge of Doyusha, they come pre-painted.
But still, you can strip their paint and do your own,

my two cents...

Cheers,

Doyusha used to rebox a lot of Dragon stuff so hopefully might be the Dragon B-1B , which is very difficult to find at a decent price these days

This is a regular model kit.

It's part of Doyusha's "凄!" (Sugo!) (Eng trans: Amazing!) brand model kits. They did 1/72 kits of the Phantom, Super Hornet, Strike Eagle over the past year or so.

The gimmick or draw of these kits are that they are snap-fit and pre-colored. Pre-colored in that the plastic is somewhat close to the main color of the aircraft. It's not pre-painted. Also, the kits are provided with sticker sheets and water-slides for the markings. Sticker sheets for the kiddies who just want to snap it together. Water-slides for the more serious kit builders.

The poster suggests that this a brand new mold. So it does not look to be a rebox of the Dragon kit.

On Scalemates, there is boxart for the new Academy B-1B. I have read from other sites that the Doyusha and Academy B-1B maybe the same model.

Any word if Academy is going to re - release the B-58. It was listed in 2017 but never came out.

This was posted on Britmodeller

http://mmzone.co.kr/mms_tool/mt_view.ph ... ia&no=4592

also on cybermodeler they have the 2019 Academy catalog. On the cover is the box art for the B-1B kit. I think this is the first time that a 1/144 model has been on a cover of a catalog by itself.

No date of release has been listed.

Nice to see they've included the Sniper pod! It's in the picture with the tail section.

Doyusha posted on their Twitter feed, the first testshots of their upcoming 1/144 B-1B kit. As I suspected, it seems it's going to come pre-colored.

Now, if only the Sniper pod could get some more love in 1/144. Those snipers on Shapeways are a little too pricey.

But WOW, that B-1B looks nice. Love those bays full of JDAMs.
