My collection
Thinking of selling my entire collection of WW2 vehicles (3000 +) at $4 each, so about $12000. This would include all my decal sheets, paint and spare parts. Pick up only as I don't have time to part them out - anyone know where I could do this?

Re: My collection
A word if caution. Be careful when selling to dealers or by auction as you are unlikely to get anything close to the price you are hoping for. Depends on how you have valued the models but my experience is you will be lucky to get 1/3 of the expected price from a dealer.
Auct houses are as bad. I sold my Dad's diecast car collection via a UK specialist auction house back in 1990. The collection had an insured value of £100,000. I received £20,000. In part because the auctioneer was lazy and sold most of the items as job lots. In a batch of say 50 models there were two worth £200 each, yet they sold the batch for £50.00. that way they got rid of a large number of less interesting models by devaluing some of the really rare and expensive items.
Just be careful and, sorry to say, distrustful.

Re: My collection
I dont think anyone would object to you offering them here... we are all colleagues.
could you perhaps, arrange them in lots of 100 for $400 per lot --
I think I might buy a few such lots of my interest, but not $12k worth...
Ill look at your old threads and PM you later.

Re: My collection
Don't believe you're going to receive that much, too. I'd try to sell the valuable pieces seperately and then get rid of the rest in one or more lots to the highest bidder.
Don't know what exactly you have and how the request is in the US, but judging from the offers of the EU evil bay, 3000 kits at a time will flood the market here
Hope I'm wrong and wish you good luck!
( Sitting myself on a lot (by far not as many, though) of 1/72 and 1/48 kits I know I'll never build and having myself asked the same question several times. As long as I have the storage . . .)

Re: My collection
I haven't made up my mind about selling. it yet this was to see if anyone knew of a place that would buy it all so I wouldn't have to part it out. Thank you all for the replies.

If I lived in Massachusetts, you would be selling!
