The diorama of laziness ....

#1

Post by teddybeer »

Why this title ?
Just a desire to make a diorama with a diecast model, in this case a Bac TSR 2 produced by Staples & Vine (formerly Diverse Images).
I found this model to be superb but the general setting was a bit sad.

So, without touching the already finished model (hence the laziness ...), I wanted to present it differently, taking inspiration from the photo below.

Then, thanks to a few models by Ray Rimes (see here :http://www.kampfgruppe144.com/phpBB3/vi ... f=6&t=7662), resin and photoetched materials from various manufacturers and accumulated over the years, then a few figurines from Preiser, here is the result ...

Like what, laziness leads to many things.....

Looks great, TB. Geez, I wish I was as lazy as you!

And there's been so many Staples & Vine/Diverse Images releases over the years that I would loved to get hold off, but the prices have been way beyond my minuscule budget.

I will show this to Sera, the owner and model maker of Staples and Vine, next time I see her at model club. I too have the TSR 2. I was thinking of having the Lightning chase plane flying over the top.

Here is what Sera thought.....

"Wow! that's amazing.

Thanks for sharing that post David. The TSR2 really comes alive with all the extra bits. I would love to have them as an option but it would drive up the price a lot."

That's praise indeed.

Many Thanks to Mrs Vine
You can tell her that I did not damage the model or the support .... :D :D
I had suggested that she present the model during takeoff but she did not want to because of a question of tail height   (but in fact, as the plane is oblique, the height remains the same).
So I was forced to do a take off (or landing) presentation myself with the model of the late CAM Club at Heathrow ....

You can also tell her that if she wants to hire me, I always have plenty, lots of ideas ....

Sera does a superb job, no two ways about it. The Hendon is on my If Only Wish List. And the list of 1/144 models struck off charge is a WW2 fanatic's dream.
