Spitfire 14/18 from Mark I

Postby Mig88 » Wed Jan 10, 2018 6:57

I picked up the January issue of Scale Aviation Modeller International from my postbox last night and browsing through it quickly I just happened to read the small bit on Mark I in their Czech News section where they state the following:

"We are able to exclusively reveal that in January/February Mark I will be releasing a 1/144 scale Spitfire 14/18 series..."

Here we go again: first F-Toys and now Mark I!!! Great news nevertheless :D .

Hopefully the bubble canopy versions will be included. Now if they would just do a late model Mk22 or Mk24 and a Mk47 Seafire.....

As the F-Toys' version isn't at all bad, I'm with you, Tony. Oh, and a really decent Mk I/II would be icing on the cake. ;)
OTB ...
Group Build 8 - Vickers Type 432 (prototype), Spitfire LF Mk IXc (601 Sqn), Spitfire PR Mk XIX (81 Sqn)
Shelf of Shame - Bell P-63C Kingcobra (GC 3/6 "Roussillon")

Definitely with you on the Mk I. Although that particular variant from this particular manufacturer could lead to all kinds of muddled conversation.

Well, I have bought some F-Toys ones too... (thats another "classic kit" shortly after shokugan, luckilly only one F-Toys Corsair in my stash...)

Judging by the typical Mark I lineup, there will be some pretty interesting markings (unlike F-Toys)

For the early Merlin variants, lets hope for Eduard...

And, for something completely different-, if only Mark I would mix Eduard IX sprues (they are repacking the old 109s/190s) with some new parts for PR XI...(or HF VIII, XVI bubbletops...-if Eduard wont do any other VIII/IX variation in 144)

When?
How many versions?
Which markings?
Can I have one now?
Do I get discount for ordering in bulk?

Am I excited?......

The current info from Eduard is that they will be starting pre-production process on Spitfire I/II/V in 1/48 this spring. So there really is hope :) (but in few years, of course)
